I rejoice in yesterdays win however the cost of the growing injury list very worrying.
Ogbonna was already out for the season and Cresswell is still recovering from his back injury from a few weeks back. To now lose Zouma and Johnson which could both be fairly long term and yesterdays game was our first of 10 games in 30 days😬It’s wonderful to see us in the top four and beating Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Leicester etc this season. Will we have the squad to keep us pushing on come Jan..?

Saw that live. Great goal.
2nd wasn’t too bad either!

Villa look so much more up for it under Gerrard. Fitness has definitely improved, their passing is much better and they all seem to be more confident on the ball, it’s great to see.
I thought Leicester rode their luck a bit and the ref did everything he could for them, but it could have been 3 or 4-1.

Absolutely. Really enjoying the Gerrard era so far. Just need to start a bit quicker now.

what style of football is he playing ? benitez era or klopp era or something different ? might still be introducing new ideas week by week so may change slightly in the coming months. has he brought up the 7-2 yet ?
was away for the weekend but caught the 2nd half of the liverpool game
status as cult hero confirmed, if it wasn't already
divok origi what a talisman
hope he continues his 3.5 goals per game average this season when he gets some full games during the african cup of nationswe usually fall apart in january most years so i'm guessing not

FA Cup providing a couple of good pay days for the lower league clubs (Thanks NUFC!)
Millwall v Palace also going to be one to watch from a safe distance.

Fuck me, if VAR can't call that a red for Godfrey then what is the fucking point!
It's just used to further Mike Dean's attempts at being the most despisable man in football!

Nice to see that Morecambe should make it through to the next round

• #159662
VAR obviously want Rafa out of the job sooner rather than later.
-
• #159663
Fact!

• #159664
To rule those goals out does nothing for football, not sending off Godfrey risks people's careers.
VAR is a shambles.
-
• #159665
Great win that. Great winner. Doing it in stoppage time after Arsenal spent so long diving and trying to kill time was pretty sweet, too.
-
• #159666
Also, fuck VAR.

Jesus Christ have some humility. Your player got away with stamping on someone's face, and two other leg breaker tackles, and it's Arsenal diving you took from that game?
Typical small club mentality...

Typical small club mentality...
I'm confused, which club are you referring to?

Partisan football fan celebrates their team's first win in 9 games (in injury time no less). Don't expect a particularly nuanced take.
Should Godfrey have been sent off? Yes. Did Arsenal spend a lot of time diving and feigning injury to try and kill the game? Yes. Is VAR a joke? Yes.

Typical small club mentality...
Yeah, I think you want to be careful throwing around those accusations when we were timewasting like that. Wasn't so long ago we'd be the ones whinging about small clubs timewasting against us.
Hard to understand how stamping on someone's face, accidental or not, can go unpunished but that just distracts from the fact that again we failed to close off a game when we had the advantage. Look how we played after the eqaliser, if we'd come out at the start of the second half like that we'd have buried them.
Anyway, we were shit, the game was shit, Tottenham are shit, Southapton next, life goes on.

I was at that game too, West stand pretty much directly behind Cisse. I think i just walked out when that went in.

Did Arsenal spend a lot of time diving and feigning injury to try and kill the game?
Maybe the same amount of time was spent as the time spent feeling the studs against the shins and ankles. It's pretty ripe to complain about a team feigning injury when there was a real chance of someones career being ended. More so when that joke of a man dean is refereeing...
-
• #159673
Which was the potential career ending foul?
-
• #159674
I reckon Tavares was very lucky to walk off the field after that tackle by Gordon. Horrible tackle. Studs up and half way up his shin. Could easily have been a red card.
-
• #159675
half way up his shin
Not saying it wasn't a bad tackle. But it was on the top of his ankle, not half way up his shin.
quite possibly at the worst possible time too. Games piling up thick and fast.
I’ve always thought that clubs would need larger than usual squads because of the last two seasons and next years mid season WC yet still our squad is starting to look a bit threadbare. Hammers got that win pretty fair and square. If we wanna have a look in we can’t be dropping points until the new year.
