Ndombele has done what Kane should’ve done weeks ago.

Chelsea are going to be hard to beat this year. Ludicrously strong.

It's funny 'cos it's true...
Sadly we're at a real 'glass ceiling' point, where our self-sustainable model sounds wonderful but ultimately means we buy players to sell on...funnily enough it leaves us as a really strong Championship side but one that just doesn't look good enough to stay up.
Yesterday was embarrassing...other teams will get taught a lesson by Manchester City this season but we offered absolutely nothing from the first kick to the last.
Still can't believe we haven't strengthened at centre back or defensive central midfield though - that's been a constant every time we've been promoted, and this year we've swapped a genuinely top-class talent in Buendia for a few yet to be proven individuals who will probably do alright but don't solve the problems we all knew we'd have.
Still, Leicester (h) next week. It's the hope that kills you...

Lukaku totally bullied Arsenal today. Great debut pt2. I thought Havertz was quietly good too. Great result.

What a relief, I thought the Arse would turn us over TBH... Bad memories of that FA Cup final... And wonderful that Romelu got off the mark, first goal for Chelsea, may it be the first of many... I've really come around to the idea of him coming back, I think he really wants to be at Chelsea... 💙

Lots of noise (again) that Kane to City for in excess of £140m is imminent!

Who will you waste all the money on this time?

Ah, a Chelsea fan who knows all about financial prudence;-)
I read that it's a 'bit of a' buyers market with a huge number of clubs (outside the prem) really struggling financially after Covid so I think if all the money is going to be reinvested it needs to be done now else I'd feel 'ok' with a few shrewd signings and some money of the going towards stadium. Seems that teenage midfielder Sarr is as good as done and 10m f0r a highly rated coveted player almost guarantees your investment. I'd like to trim the squad/midfield and get a defender, creative midfielder (a la modric style) and, being realistic and not wanting to spend £90m, Zaha (who I reckon would be available at a decent price). I'd also gladly take Adama if the price was good (<30m)

Maybe lukau see it as unfinished business I'm really pleased he joined and was gutted he went to Utd when he did. Arsenal were poor though yesterday and was a gentle game for a debut. Next week will be interesting as Liverpool look to back on form.

Ha! It's crazy to look at that team and see all that money sitting on the bench, what a bizarre situation...
@Rich_G Watched the whole game today, I thought we were okay but didn't think we were amazing or anything... Some Chelsea fans starting to get a little carried away already... It was easy to see Romelu is our missing link, holding up play and making space for whoever else is upfront with him... Potentially very spicy season ahead... Libpool will probably turn us over, that should cool a few heads...

Sarr for 10m is excellent business. I think we were interested at one point, but have a few kids already on the way into the first team and didn't need another.
Adama is a headless chicken - amazing pace but very limited end product. Not going to get any better than he is IMO. -

To basically take your foot off the gas for the second half and relax for the rest of the game is the ultimate luxury. Thought Chelsea played fantastic in the first half B and manages the second cleverly.
Arsenal are exactly what I thought they’d be, their preseason games were bellringers.

Is it the BIG EASTMIDLANDS DERBY already? Seems unfair to have it at the beginning of the season when there's not really enough for them to laugh at us about. Unless Wayne's out there now cooking up a controversy for the weekend.

Knowing us, we'll gift Forest their first points of the season in comical fashion, but hopefully we won't.
I've been impressed with Rooney's signings that he's been able to make even though we're under an embargo that limits us to £4.5k a week free agents and a max squad size of 23 players (including youth players that have made at least a sub appearance in a professional game...).
Jagielka has been outstanding so far, even though he's just turned 39! Ravel Morrison can hopefully keep his shit together long enough to be a key player all season for us.

Yeah, I don't envy what he's got to work with. AT ALL.
He got about 60 minutes in our two defeats and was a sub last night. So not yet, but he's still young.
