Nice to see the goalkeepers' union holding strong at 8-8.

Amazing stuff.

been thinking about this some more. who takes the 12th penalty? do they go round again in same order or can the pack be shuffled?

The match-saving Panenka at 5-4 is a thing of beauty. Some serious bottle there.

Meh - our second team is still shit. Missed a good opportunity to progress there, but hey - concentrate on the league innit.

Goalkeepers union wry smile was nice.
Also Kjaer took the fucking leather of their pen. -

100% true unfortunately in modern football.
Gutted that all this is going on behind closed doors. A quarter final against a top team at home would have the place rocking in normal times. -

Seeing the water ping off the goal net was v satisfying some of thoes pens were drilled

Kept thinking "they're really smacking them. there's no soft net bloom noise there"

It can be shuffled.
Caveat Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penalty_shoot-out_(association_football)
"18. If it becomes necessary for players to take another kick (because the score has remained equal after all eligible players have taken their first kick), players are not required to kick in the same order"
There's also lots of quirks about what happens if one team is down to 10 (or fewer) players before the kicks take place, or during the shootout itself, (generally the team with more players have to nominate the appropriate number of players not to take a first kick to make it even).

Chilwell was very composed, I like him, great start in a Chelsea shirt... Relieved Palace finally buckled, looked like we were gonna be snuffed out for the whole game... Zouma also played well...

Goal and an assist for Chilwell, can’t complain about that. What could’ve been a tricky tie turned out pretty plain sailing. Good three points and finally a clean sheet.

We're going to be winning the sacking at this rate.
Should be some nice ties in the CL this season. Atalanta, Ajax and Liverpool sounds tasty in particular.
Reckon Barkley and Villa could be a good fit. He should be able to slot in quite nicely there. Better than Drinkwater I presume.
