Don’t know why ... but I’m watching Flamengo v Al Hilal .... cor , those Brazilians don’t take well to not getting their own way on the pitch do they ... ?
Loads of really petty reactions and dirty play when they get run around by a fairly useful side who are just working and pressing harder ... quite a good game for a wet Tuesday afternoon ..
Come on you Saudi’s ...... ! -

Turned out all right then. Can't win anything with kids apparently.

not entirely unexpected but the young lads put up a decent show, villas keeper made a hatful of good saves
once it was done and dusted at about 75mins villa fans started up with
" top of the league, you're having a laugh " some good chants ensued back and fro

It's official - Arteta in at Arsenal.

Poison chalice. Personally think he’s mental.

It’s alright, they’ve apologised.

Leipzig are very good corny.if they keep werner this jan then he will enjoy your defense. I heard there was a connection between salzburg to leipzig with players going from S to L and then on to bigger clubs. Salzburg currently have some excellent prospects and Leipzig are in for Haaland. SOmetimes they get first dibs but I think Man Utd might get in first on this one.

yeah I was talking to a young Arsenal fan about this. I couldn't believe Arteta was called a Legend. My point was that players like Arteta and Corzola being lauded at Arsenal was a sure sign things were on the decline. Like when Liverpool were loving Didi Hamaan , Hypia and Dirk Kuyt. None of these players were bad but all represent a distinct lowering of standards.

Got to disagree re: cazorla, he was indispensable for arsenal when fit, one of those technical small players who you can’t bully off the ball. Like modric but dare I say it better, as he could score and assist more. Injury destroyed his time at arsenal but when fit he was first on the team sheet..

You cannot say a bad word about corzola.

Leicester v City final will be pretty good though.

We sold Arsenal Arteta just as he was on the wane. They never saw close to his best. He was superb for us for a long, long time, comfortably one of our best midfielders of recent years. He got a bad injury and never quite got back to his best, age became a factor too. The fact he could still play comfortably in Arsenal’s midfield for a good few years says something about his own ability and something about Arsenal’s decline at that time.

Pretty shit from my perspective. Nice to see us having a go though.

^^^^^This. Immense talent with the ball and opposition found it hard to disposses him. Shame his achilles ended his Arsenal career.
He appears to be defying age and 'punditry opinion'. Played more games in his first season at Villareal then the last three years at Arsenal, earned a contract extension and has been back in the Spain squad scoring. All at the age of 35!

Spanish version of Peter Reid.

Liverpool officially the best club side in the world.

Was top scorer and for assists in la Liga for a while during that period I think. Not long granted, but impressive nonetheless.

Chelsea v Spurs today, ah to only be in the Effra Tavern with Corny and Teenslain on a day like this.
