He's at Chelsea, not West Ham.

There seems to be a lot of rumors at the moment that they'd be after Tarkowski.

Fail to see how Leicester win from selling Maguire. Any club they try to negotiate with for a replacement will jack the price right up.

'Show your workings'
dude you are using credit to get Zaha and amazon vouchers.
West Brom should use a sustainable model but big clubs can operate on the 'we cant get into finacial trouble because we can always be bought by a rich person' model. This only works however if you show willingness to challenge for silverware. I'd love to see Arsenal back in their pomp but I cant see how you are going to manage your way out of this current malaise with Kronke.

This is true of the transfer market generally. But, as I posted above, Leicester have already bought Maguire’s replacements in anticipation of selling him. What has changed is a) the likelihood of selling him a year ahead of schedule, b) Benkovic, despite having a good loan season with Celtic, has a suspect ankle and c) Maguire being valued around £30M more than expected.
a and b mean we might be in for Dunk or Tarkowski, and c will cover 75% of the cost of that, leaving us with more than enough for Tielemans. That would be a win for me.
Right now, United are the only club interested apparently, and Leicester’s owner has told the DOF not to call him unless there’s an offer of £90M on the table (which probably means 80). Alternatively Maguire hands in a transfer request having just signed a new contract. So a possible outcome is neither of the above and a pay rise for slab head until he leaves next summer, by which time our existing replacements should be nicely settled in, and no need to buy in someone new. That would be a win too.

RLC hoping back for november not sure about CHO.

I'm in London from the 2nd-9th August... Footie thread meet up? I'll be meeting Pisti and Skully for lunch up at LMNH if anyone wants to join us...

Think CHO has been spotted on the training pitch and is already handling the ball.
Both have signed up for long term deals.

More importantly, who is likely to be allowed out on loan? Pretty sure our chairman mentioned that we are on very good terms still and Cocu would do a good job of developing youth.
I would love Tomori back for another season if possible. I think a lot of our fans would like to see Van Ginkel on loan too. I know he's a bit older, but I don't think he's near the first team at Chelsea and was captain for Cocu towards the end of his PSV spell. Would tear up the championship.

Sounds like a plan. Would be good to have a pre-season friendly meet up.

Less of the friendly, mate, we've just nicked your manager... #spenditwisely #dontgoallspursy

I'm around, and could take some time off work for this, but jnr's in nursery so if you wanted to see him be scared of you, it would probably have to be a weekend meet up.

• #150692
How was Tomori? Able to hack it at the bottom end of the Premier League. He's being linked to Burnley for ~ £15m.

saw an Instagram post with CHO doing keep ups so on the mend. Really pleased they have new contracts esp RLC

Haha, I think most Derby fans are seeing Cocu as an upgrade to Lampard and a nice little bump in our funding for the season. Of course, it's hard to predict how it will work out. I'm sure that we may find ourselves employing Lampard again in the future when both our seasons go tits up.

I saw the link at the weekend. He'd be more than capable in the Prem.
His positional naivety was a problem early on last season, but he started to get more aware of his positioning as the season went on. He has so much pace that he can easily get himself out of trouble using his athleticism.
One thing we will miss unless we replace him with someone similar is his passing range. He has great vision passing it around the back and will often make successful forward passes to the wing or to the number 10. Also likes a little gallop forward from time to time. Maybe too fancy for Dyche if he's looking for a solid centre half for a counter attacking team?
One of his main issues in his game, which I'm sure is relatable to his age and inexprience, is his tendency to show too much emotion during the play. He can have a little strop on the pitch if things don't go his way and get in the refs face a little too much.

Cheers. We normally play with one stopper and one more ball-playing centre-half and if he came in it would be for Tarkowski who is the ball-playing one. We're pretty big on discipline and do a lot of work on positioning which would hopefully help him progress.
We're currently signing 30 years olds from Stoke and West Brom so I'd like us to sign him as a player to develop but we're currently quite well stocked for centre halfs so not sure if it would happen.

tielemans for £40m is decent business.

genuine question. Youth academies...what's the point?

Leicester have got three first team regulars from their academy

we keep having ours taken from us before they reach 17 for peanuts compensation. I know occassionally a team gets a good crop every now and then but on the whole top clubs can sit back and let us do the work and then cherry pick for nothing. struggling to think of any albion youngsters who we profiited from after david burrows and carlton palmer
