  • The Chelsea bust bust cycle continues.

  • The trophies are nice tho'...

  • Bring back Robbie DM or Rafa - at least you won big trophies with those guys...

  • and play kante in dm role surely

  • I would suggest that back to back Premiership and FA cup winning seasons isn't bad going... I'm not as trophy crazy as some of my fellow fans, I can wait...

However, I'm not sure how Sarri can get himself out of this predicament, he's pretty much boxed himself in now...

  • The Matthew Harding Stand chanting "Fuck Sarri Ball!" suggests you might be on to something :)

  • The Chelsea forum I'm on are all foaming at the mouth, everyone's had enough... Playing Kante and Hazard out of position, playing Jorginho every game, not playing CHO, the ridiculous substitutions, no plan B, etc, etc...

I'm 12,000 miles away and not forking out for a season ticket so that's probably why I'm not getting my knickers in a twist...

  • Let's wait to see what our expert in the field here in London thinks.

  • I thought Chelsea played well in spurts (eg, first 20mins) but throughout the match the lack of incisiveness and the killer pass was missing. I love the professionalism of Kante despite being played out of position. Scene was set for Giroud near the end but didn't come on...

I like Sarri but can the stubbornness he is purported to have continue in the modern game (a la Wenger)? Just don't think it can according to the pundits - it almost seems as if you're not Citeh/Loserpool and winning all the time you're considered shit. Hope he comes good and more time is given (unlikely as it is).

  • Doubt he'll post. The false-modesty schtick doesn't really work when you are actually shit.

  • 🙄🎶

  • I think if you're going to put Liverpool on that list, you're meant to start it from the mid 70's.

  • Someone asked last night what Sarriball was and so I had to explain that it consisted of passing out from the back, passing among the back five for a while and then booting to a little chap who would then return possession to the other side. And then repeat. 71 minute Barkley for Kovacic and a brief while later swap Pedro and Willian. Usually with ten minutes to go, take off the striker and bring on Giroud. Last night, of course, Sarri surprised everyone by swapping one right full back for another, which is what one usually does in a cup game when trailing by two goals. Heaven forfend that one would take a risk by taking off a defender and bringing on a forward. We could have used Giroud, Willian and Hudson Odoi last night and taken off Azpilicueta Alonso and Kovacic. We might still have lost, we might even have lost 4-0 but we might have had a chance at scoring.

Sadly Sarri is going nowhere. He can take us out of the Europa on Monday, lose by a massive margin to City’s junior squad on Sunday and again to Spurs next Wednesday but he won’t be fired until April at earliest and, at that time, what would be the point until the end of the season. We will be lucky to qualify for the new European competition at this rate but if we do, we could, at least add a further trophy and become the only club in Europe with all four.

    So let’s be positive.

  • I don't see Spurs on there.

  • That’s because they’re using outdated metrics to measure success. Applying pressure is where it is nowadays.

  • yay 3 !

  • Disappointed not see Leicester on there with the unique trio of League One, Championship and Premier League trophies.

That's what a fucking "project" looks like Corndog...

  • Got a free ticket for QPR v West Brom (away end) tonight if anyone is interested...

  • Liverpool’s net spend trophy isn’t on there.

  • Imagine how good Mane would be if he could finish.

  • This game is hard to keep up with so far. Not the best in terms of quality, but still pretty nerve-wracking, even for a (semi-)neutral.

  • not a bad result
hopefully bayern will open up at th back in the 2nd leg and we'll take advantage

they were a bit defensive yesterday patting it around the back

did anyone look at the trophys won table for the 70's and 80's would be interesting to see how liverpools good years compared to chelseas good years

  • No one can remember that far back, @dicki...
