Ugh, is that the format, with two going through into the next round? Awful. Should be eight groups of six, little mini leagues at the start.

Currently: 3 group games, last 16, QF, SF, Final = 7 games max - played in 32 days

2026: 2 group games, last 32, last 16, QF, SF, Final = 7 games max - can be played in 32 days

8 groups of 6: 5 group games top 2 go through, last 16, QF, SF, Final = 9 games max - can't be played in 32 days
or:-
8 groups of 6: 5 group games only winner goes through, QF, SF, Final = 8 games max - still can't be played in 32 days

We have an Acer k137. It's tiny but pretty good. Has a built in speaker which is a bit average but means we can set up outside in the summer for that festival vibe - sofa, firepit, beers, movie.

Was about £370 + £60 for a 100" pull down screen. Very much not a top end set-up, but fine for occasional movies / sports.

Frank seems to be recruiting some good people for his coaching team. Along with Jody Morris as his assistant we've announced Shay Given as GK Coach, Chris Jones (former Chelsea fitness coach) as first team coach and Stephen Rands (former Man City Head of Performance Analysis) as Head of Performance Analysis. Not bad on paper.

Looking forward to another season of nearly getting to the promised land and wetting the bed around February/March. At least we'll have more media coverage of it next season.

In other spurs transfer news we have been linked with a couple of midfielders as we contemplate life without dembele. Kovacevic, ndombele (sp), barrios, but I am worried our tug of love over martial means we lose sight of making sure we get great replacements for Toby and the moose.
With the shortened transfer window really don’t want levy being Levy if we are looking to get players in and make sure they get a decent pre season with the sheriff..

Is this a requirement? Just make the tournament longer, problem sorted?

I think that’s a UEFA thing so it fits between the end of the CL and the start of the next season whilst still allowing top players a couple of weeks holiday and still have lucrative pre-season friendlies in UAE etc

On a back to the World Cup note, as I’m currently bereft without any football today, having trouble figuring out what I should do now I’m not just marking time at work between the start of the next match..
