Just had a read, that sounds horrible. Love to his family.
-
• #135858
Doesn't sound nice. Makes you think twice putting up those glum pictures when he signed for Everton.
Newspapers should really have a look at themselves in this respect.
-
• #135859
and just read that daily heil have put his salary in their headline because money brings eternal happiness right.

Sounds to be a properly shit situation. Hope he recovers fully.
Nice to see the thread full of sympathy too (having been told by my reactionary neighbour that "There's no such thing as stress").
-
• #135861
Yes. Sounds kind of similar to what happened to Kanye West. These things can effect us all I think. I hope he recovers well
-
• #135862
Yep echo the thoughts on here hope he can get well soon.

Awful to hear that someone whose physical well being is so closely and expensively looked after should have his mental well being so ignored. If someone like Lennon can be overlooked, it does not say a great deal for mental health monitoring and care in the country generally.

So this morning's papers pressage the summer ahead. Four months until the close of the trnasfer window and precious little in the way of actual football will see journalists scurrying around to fill column inches and justify their salaries.
So far, just about every Chelsea player is off either to Real Madrid, Atletico or to any one of our domestic rivals. In turn, it appears, we are about to sign most of the Monaco team.
I shall switch off and my interest shall only be peaked when pen is on paper.
Yes we shall sell some players who have done great things for the team. We shall also sign others, some of whom I will not know nor care for. It happens every year. This year we have a particularly large fund available for transfers. I have the confidence this year that it will turn out alright.
I may be disappointed to see Terry at West Ham with Batshuyi and Moses and Fabregas at Liverpool as I may be to see Costa in China and Hazard and Courtois at Real Madrid and Azpilicueta and Willian at ManU alongside Matic and Kante as well as Pedro and Alonso at Arsenal and Cahill and Luiz in the lillywhite of Tottenham. Life will however continue and for each one we sell we will buy an equivalent.

Coutinho has already gone to Barca and apparently we are signing Fibreglass. I wouldn't wipe my arse with those rags
-
• #135866
You're mad Mike. Fabregas would make every team in the prem better.
-
• #135867
No. Mike is being true to his heritage. Why take on a player who could help you lift a trophy when all you aspire to is glory of the past and fantastical hope in the future?

Athletico
Where is this fictional club based?
-
• #135869
Never bothered enough to notice that they mis-spelt the name.
-
• #135870
Who are they? I thought it was just corndog that did it.

So not content with accusing Scousers of robbing and pissing on the dead, beating up ambulance crew attending the dead and injured, calling a mixed race footballer a gorilla and being thick...oh and that all Scousers with money are drug dealers....
One horrible, horrible cunt

Read the NY times article, it's in the election thread.
It's worth it just to bang your head against the desk and wonder when it might change. -
• #135874
The entirity of the NYT article is worth reading. The NYT is one of the only papers coming out of the current chaos with any integrity still intact. Sadly they don't write about English football.

Strootman given 2 game ban for this. I actually think both Sane's and Rashford's are worse because they were definitely looking for a pen. Knowing Strootman he probably was too but limited rolling round on floor. Stupid ref, well done italian FA.
Though Sulley Muntari has been banned for 1 match for suffering racist abuse, so far less well done.
This is rather jolly:
