Whilst the board have displayed a complete lack of class in the decision it's also worth remembering that most people said the same when Pearson was summarily dismissed having kept them up and Ranieri was brought in. Even further back most people also expected Pearson to be sacked following their failed promotion bid and he ended up taking them up the next season. So in that respect the board have displayed some astute decision making.
