Because, conspiracy.

I'd just like to remind you that Arsenal won the League in 1991, despite being deducted two points for their part in a fracas at Old Trafford.

It feels like a couple of years ago to Clive.

Andy, even with a Chelsea points deduction, they appear unlikely to do it again.

Why did the news of a potential points deduction emerge at the weekend, two weeks after the incident? Either the press feel the need to fill column inches or there has been a leak from the FA before the panel has been convened.
Probably the press. Yesterday's back page of the ghastly Mail was telling. "Crisis for Chelsea" and then repeated the child abuse story saying that six victims had now come forward and Chelsea could face claims of millions. Of course in writing this, the Mail ignored one very salient feature of the earlier story confirmed in the clubs press statement and apology. The earlier complain was passed to the club's insurers who, with their lawyers, handled the whole thing. Any future claims will, no doubt, be handled by those self same insurers. Not really a crisis for Chelsea.
A little stranger was the fact that the article sought to dismiss the child abuse problem as one involving just one club and ignoring the 90 or so other clubs against whom allegations have been made. Some of those clubs will be in dire financial straights and may not have sufficient insurance cover. The bigger crisis and story relates to them and how the victims of abuse suffered at those clubs will fare.
So it may be that the Mail has a hatred for Chelsea. I think that we can be pleased if that is true. I would hate to be involved in anyting which had the support of the Mail.

It's a conspiracy started by The Scousers

• #132559
Cuz they can't play football?

• #132560
Say what you want about scousers, they are unlikely to support the Mail or the Sun.

I think you've already said enough, m8...

I would have thought Viscount Rothermere could find plenty to agree on with the your average Chelsea fan. Hurrah.

You'll not get an immediate points deduction, you might get a suspended points deduction to encourage you to control your players. @WornCleat

Leicester - Sevilla will be a great tie, Ranieri vs Sampailo. I fancy Leicester to sneak it.

Pretty sure left wing Mark E. Smith fans don't account for a large percentage of the Florist fanbase... Just sayin'...

There was something inevitable about that, we'd have got Barca if we'd come second in the group anyway.
Fuck it, we can beat them anyway. And these are the type of games we want to see our teams playing in.

True, then we wouldn't have Chelsea Dagger played on the rare occasions we score a goal.

Which would then encourage other teams we play to spend matches seeking to provoke a reaction. Aguero would certainly have fun.

"Tottenham Hotspur postponed, West Ham United 1h"
So with our upcoming points deduction, it's between Citeh and Liverpool.
