3 divisions/72 teams > 4 divisions/80 teams. In general I think less is good in fixtures. 46 games then playoffs in the champ is crazy, esp if you throw in a cup run. It'll hopefully allow for better preparation going into matches and more time to coach/physically prepare players instead of the play/recover/play/recover cycle I imagine Football League players have to maintain.

For this reason I'd also bin the league cup.

It could mean seven teams being relegated from the Championship that season.

And for that reason I'm out.

Presumably half of league 2 would be relegated that season to make up the new bottom league. Would make it a pretty tasty competition.
