  • @cornelius_blackfoot @dan

You should've won the league, you fucked it up... You played like a bunch of amateurs yesterday, you let the occasion go to your heads and you fucked it up...

We've had our worst season in recent memory, I've come to terms with that... Come and talk to me when you win the title... #55years #andstillcounting

  • What do you mean...we've been breaking records consistently all season. Probably our record breakingist season ever.

  • Some thread faves that have won the league since Spurs last won it:
    • Derby County
    • Nottingham Forest
    • Aston Villa
    • Leicester City
    • Ipswich Town

  • "I've not been keeping up with football since I moved to Oz"

  • LOL. Are you for real? You need to learn to live with that.
Disgraceful scenes at the end there. You expect that from Chelsea but Tottenham really let themselves down.

  • Back to the usual nonsense on here then.
In what way should Tottenham have won the league. I though the team with the most points at the end of the season wins the league? Can you explain how Tottenham 'should have won it'?

  • I'm in Corny mode, highlights only (or full replays on the rare occasion I can get them)...

  • In the same way you should've won it the year Slippy fucked it up for ya...

    But you bottled it...

  • So Spurs lost the league rather than Leicester won it?

    Epic lightweight trolling.

  • Who says we should have won the league? Supporters from other clubs? Supporters of Spurs? If that's the case, why didn't you win it? Or Liverpool, or Man Utd or Man City? Did they all fuck it up as well? Or are you saying that because Spurs were the closest challengers?

Enjoying the grasping at historical precedents to attack us with, when the same things could be applied to you pre Abramovich. Fifty years between you winning the league in '54/'55 and '04/'05. Now the boot at least this year is on the other foot, it's not about how poorly you did, how your high profile players underperformed, but how you got a draw in a local derby with a younger team, who'd surprised the rest of the league with their consistency and defensive solidity, and attacking verve, and who pre season no one was touting as possible champions.

On the other hand, Chelsea, reigning champions, shit the bed, player mutiny drives out most successful manager in their history (going to keep coming back to this) and then play not as poorly, to drag themselves into the top ten, and avoid playing in Europe next season.. Was that the worse defence of a title in Premier League history? Ever? Or would you have had to get relegated for that?

  • Epic lightweight trolling

Apologies, just finished a double shift... I'm enjoying Corny's pain, it's payback for all the Chelsea CL losses I've had to endure when I've been with him...

  • Didn't Chelsea lose the league? They were the champions, they had the squad, they had the manager, if anyone bottled it it was Chelsea. The rottenness of some of the charters at the club shone through.

  • Actually, I'm glad you did now.
After that post up there ^, I'm having to wipe the spittle and cornflakes and whatever else Corndog has been eating off my face.

  • We lost it in July...

  • Coming from you, the resident loon? TEH LOLZ

  • basic troll is basic. Oz has blunted you.

  • no pain here, as I mentioned before if I'd been offered this before the beginning of the season, I'd have snatched your hand off.

I'm more bemused by the shouting coming from Chelsea fans and others about our supposed "bottling/choking" when Leicester won it fair and square. Also not letting the antipodean highlight watcher get any free blows in when Chelsea just about snatched a draw from us, and are acting like they've won the league rather than Leicester...

  • Anyway, the premiership is over.

'Boro to draw or better in one game to get into the prem. I'd have happily taken this at the start of the season. please no playoffs. please

  • God I love this thread!

  • You'll be so deflated when if you end up in the playoffs you'll lose both games.

  • I know, I know! 🙃

  • Prem finale will always be good day. Grown Men Crying Day is one of the best tellyvisual spectacles.

If Spurs don't beat Soton on Sunday and Arsenal scrape a draw/win against Citeh then it'll be an interesting final day of the season with Newcastle probably needing to get a result at home to Spurs to stay up and Arsenal with (sorry ru) a nailed on 3 points.

  • I know, I know. By my estimation 'Boro/Brighton will be playing Sheff Wed and Hull/Derby will play each other in the playoffs(?)

Sheff Wed have got to be feeling pretty good about themselves for getting a playoff place......
