Moyes to Newcastle - done deal apparently
-
• #125479
Well he should keep them up at least. I think it's a pretty good fit tbh
-
• #125480
Yep, those ten years of relegation battles at Everton will stand him in good stead.
-

Just been watching that penalty decision again and its as clear as day. When someone that big has that much speed with all that forward momentum, any knock form the back is likely to take them down. I think Pardew needs to go back to school and take a course in physics, amongst other things

If you see a defender sliding in and you feel a touch in the box, go down like a sack of spuds. Ever since Klinnsman this has been rule 1 in the strikers handbook.
I don't see what all the fuss is about.

you weren't saying that when Bale was being booked for diving!

how is Derby's new manager bounce going? you bang on for a play off place?
-
• #125485
Not really a new manager, not really a bounce. We've steadied the ship a little but are unconvincing. We definitely aren't seeing signs of this "Derby Way" the chairman was banging on about. With any luck we'll get through the rest of the season without embarrassing ourselves too much more. Wassall can go back to being the Academy Director where he actually does a decent job and we can get an experienced first team manager/coach in to sort out the current mess.
We'll probably cling on to a play off spot until the end of the season and be told that it's progress from the end of last season. Either way they're just trying to not draw attention to the fact that we've been top of the table at various points for the last couple of seasons and not seen it through. That is the real "Derby Way", or so it seems.

The Derby Way. I have no idea, is it near the stadium?
-
• #125487
There has to be a branch of Ikea along Derby Way. And a B&Q.

I had the opposite of your good mood after that Saturday night. I think we're both doomed now, a lot of York fans had a feeling that we'd be the ones that gave you a first win. Jackie Mac's tactical changes and subs after the sending off cost us the game. high of the pen save to the low of conceding. So inept. You deserved it.

Chadli being linked with West Ham. I thought he's doing a good job at Spurs but Pochettino thinks he needs strengthen on the wings.
Swap with Payet +££££ ?
-
• #125490
Like Chadli, he's one of those players that doesn't impress you with his workrate, or hustle, but is there in the right place at the right time to score a goal. Think the crowd is underwhelmed by him, because he doesn't have pace, and doesn't wow you with tricks, but he was second highest scorer last season if memory serves, and we're a team which is currently built to score goals throughout the front 4, rather than relying on one striker to get 20 a season...
Think Master P is also high on character (despite the longing for Berahino) and Chadli ticks the character and versatility boxes...
We could do with a bit more pace, Chadli is fast but not quick, and so is Lamela, they're not going to stretch you chasing a ball over the top, which is why we miss Njie as a change of pace (no pun intended) as he was very quick... -
• #125491
Master fucking P?!
The last thing the Davids will do is sell Payet to Spurs - they'd rather buy their own publications...
-
• #125492
You'd think that two seasons in the majority of season ticket holders would see that he's tactically aware, keeps defenders busy, can pop with an assist or a goal at any time.
I'd say he's underrated, he comes up with decisive goals and seems to be happy with his role in the team. -

There's a joke here?
-
• #125494
I agree, but the fans are now caught up in the possibility of glory, and all player performances are magnified, both good and bad.
Also Chadli was out injured october through to december, and was playing a bit part after his return lots of sub appearances, until the last month or so...
You need players like Chadli who pop up with goals, he's good in front of goal, picks a spot, and rarely fluffs an opportunity. The only reason we'd let him go, would be if Onomah or Pritchard (though I think both are more suited to working through the central areas) are pushed forward to take his place, and offer similar qualities but more pace... -
• #125496
hold on, isn't Chadli just a bit shit.
-
• #125497
If he is, expect a moneybags bid from United in the summer.
-
• #125498
unlikely, we already have enough shit players to cover that position nicely
-
• #125499
I can understand that and I think both of us will be playing each other next season. I had loads of York fans telling me we'd win before the game. Phil, Yorks SLO (terrible acronym) was in a deep depression afterwards.
I sit by the halfway line and for around the first 20 minutes I don't think you got more than 6ft into our half. We were poor but you were poorer- it was like your players didn't know how to run.
I only hope that relegation doesn't mean you (or us) slip down further.

I can really see this gaining traction
How about a petition to get Pardew banned from being a manager?
Boom!
