Liverpool's manager has resigned saying he has taken the club as far as he can.
Nice. Hope mikec clicked the link before he opened the champagne as it's a bugger getting the cork back into those bottles.

3 match ban for Costa

And Eva has left the club and is consulting employment lawyers

Odd that Gabriel's ban got rescinded. However provoked he was, and however much Costa cheats (Zouma, 2015) he still did wrong and acted like a silly little twat, and committed at least one red card offence.

Lewandowski's just scored five goals in nine minutes. He must share a dealer with Robbie Fowler.

After coming on as a sub, no less!

Except the red card is issued for something specific, and it was a straight red so something along the lines of violent conduct, which nobody saw, and it made a massive influence on the game. And Dean failed to red card Costa, who has now received a 3 game ban, which had a massive influence on the game.
Commentary in the press? nil.

Surely the kick was violent conduct? I thought it was a pretty standard Beckham on Simeone or Terry in the CL semi kind of foul?
Alan Green earlier on was moaning that nothing was happening to Mike Dean.
I just worry this sort of thing is going to feed the Mourinho Bullshit Conspiracy Generator

• #119267
About as vicious as Becks' WC kick... Same result, react and you're off...
-
• #119268
neither was a 3 game ban.
-
• #119269
It was certainly a second yellow if not a straight red.
-
• #119270
The rules are clear tho', retaliation of any kind is a straight red... So three match ban...
Why has it been rescinded? Did he NOT retaliate? Sorry, I appear to have missed something...

"
Dean had already booked Gabriel for his part in a fracas with Costa and when the defender flicked his foot at the Spain international, Dean ruled that it merited a straight red.Arsenal appealed on two counts – on the legitimacy of the dismissal itself and against the severity of the three-game punishment – and they submitted video evidence in support of their case to the FA’s independent panel.
The panel, essentially, took their side and they deemed Dean to have made an error of judgement. It is unusual to see a decision over-turned when the referee has had a clear view of the incident but it has happened in this instance. Dean can expect to be demoted from the Premier League list.

Even with my blue goggles on it was obvious Costa should get a retrospective ban, fully deserved too. He's been a liability for Chelsea since the middle of last season, how Mourinho could come out and support him this week is beyond me. Now he's turned himself into an easy target for defenders in the PL we're unlikely to see a season of 30+ goals from him.

Why the hell is Ferguson still waffling on like an old tramp in an alleyway. Take your fucking book, shove it up your arse and fuck off. No one gives a shit what you have to say anymore.

I think (hope) a defeat tonight by Carlisle and a turgid draw against Villa on Saturday and it will be P45 time for Brendan
-
• #119275
Turgid draw - that's optimistic for you mike.
@mikec lives!!!!
