Lamela is shit, we should have cut our losses with him this summer - we would have been better off keeping Holtby or Sigurdson.
I believe I may have called Lamela a 'pointless show pony' when he scored that goal in the Europa league a couple of months after joining - and everyone gave me shit for it. He's barely kicked a ball meaningfully since. -

It's pretty galling that if Spurs had put in a proper offer for Berahino at the first or second time of asking we would have got him. Going back again and again with slightly improved offers 3 days before the window closes is just indicative of how cost focused Levy is. I'm glad I don't pay to go to games anymore.

Serious?
Compared to Spurs, Arsenal are a model of over achievement.

You've both won something in the last 10 years right?

Also, does anyone in here really give a shit about football or are we all just locked into this death spiral?
-

I don't really care to be honest. I struggle to get through match of the day these days. My interest in football has been on the slide ever since I stopped playing 3 times a week.

Tottenham have a nasty group in the Europa.
Anderlect and Monac (and Qarabag)
Liverpool have got History, Rubin, Bordeaux (and Sion) Not an easy one either.

• #118787
When was the last time the Europa was won by a team other than one that dropped down out of the CL?
-
• #118788
It's Liverpool and Spurs only chance of getting into next years Champions League though.

I like the bit where other people get sad and angry.

Lamela has signed for Inter on a season long loan.
HMS is an excellent player, was highly prized by Hamburg before Leverkusen signed him a couple of years ago. He's had 2 very strong seasons with Leverkusen.
20m seems expensive to me but he's a good addition and will be a fans fave

Seville the last two years.
I actually wondered about this too today, and was surprised.
Before that:
11-12 Atletico
10-11 Porto
07-08 Zenit
05-06 and 06-07 Seville again
03-04 Valencia
02-03 Porto
00-01 Liverpool -

Unless you are talking about teams who got knocked out of CL qualifying, in which case the answer is more complex.

Haven't looked at the t'internet since this morning. So Lamela's loan deal is a done deal?
The £20m for Son is probably £15m with £5m of add on's. He's probably come because we've doubled his wages or some such.
Sad for Lamela, wanted him to do well, hope he finds some form back in Italy. Really hope we haven't made it a loan plus transfer as I'd like him to come back and show what he can really do... -

Not really, I checked back to 2007 and from the list that you posted all of those EL winners didn't playing the CL qualification...
2014/15 Seville (The 4 Spanish CL teams were Real, Atletico, Barcelona with Athletic Bilbao in the playoff for qualification).
2013/14 Seville (The 4 Spanish CL teams were Barca, real and Atletico with Real Sociedad out in qualification)
2011/12 Atletico (Barca, Real, Valencia in group stages, qualifiers were Villerreal).
2010/11 Porto (The two Portuguese CL teams were Benfica and Braga)
2007/08 Zenit (The Russian CL teams were CSKA and Spartak Moscow)[EDIT]
2006/07 Seville (4 Spanish CL teams were Barca and Real, with Valencia and Osasuna in qualification)
2005/06 Seville (4 Spanish CL teams were Barca and Real, with Real Betis and Villarreal)
2003/04 Valencia (4 Spanish CL teams were Real Madrid and Real Sociedad, with Deportivo and Celta Vigo as qualifiers)
2002/03 Porto (Portuguese CL teams were Sporting and Boavista as qualifiers)So all that you listed didn't play in the CL (group stages or qualifiers) except:-
2000/01 Libpoo shouldn't be in your list as they lost in the QFs of the Chumps Lig.
we've gone and signed another attacking midfielder, wonder where this puts Lamela? And our interest in Berahino?
20million odd and signed till 2020. Another young hungry player, will probably sign a big sponsorship deal with a Korean company by christmas...
Got rid of all the defensive midfielders, and replaced them with tricky attacking midfielders with a bit of pace. Looks like The Sheriff is going to surround Kane with facilitators and hope they chip in with enough goals to offset not having an actual striker to replace, play alongside him...
Though I am hoping Levy pulls a van der Vaart and we get someone well outside the rumour mill selection...
