City were far more decisive when in possession and hurt us at will.
When up against as strong a midfield as city's, Fabregas becomes a passenger when not in possession and he's a liability when receiving the ball too close to his own goal.
A mate of mine said back in July that this would be the season that our defence would get sussed out, how right he was. Terry isn't particularly fast but Cahill and him are too much alike and other than Matic nobody seems to be interested to provide backup for the centrebacks.

Who is Mou going to blame this morning? I heard that fella in the canteen was giving out portions up to 5% too large.

Terry didn't look nearly sharp as he has done. Surely this is his last season?

I'm still within 5 mins walking distance of the ground.
This is the same Chelsea team that saw the league out last season having effectively won it in the first 6 months. Obviously teams have worked out how to defend against the counter attacking style and exposed the defensive weakness.
Costa seems to have lost his way too, Chelsea have a talent for ruining strikers.
On the other hand Man City looked very good and deserved the win. They'll be causing everyone problems this year if they stay fit. Their ambitions must be getting through the group stages of the CL at least though. I'm hoping for a strong showing in the CL from Chelsea if they're out of the PL running by Christmas.

Depends on his attitude to being a bit part player. Woodgate tries to retire every year and Gibson asks him not to, he's club captain, hardly plays and popped up towards the end of last season to put in some really good performances under pressure. He's worth the wages just to have about. Not sure that Terry is made of the same stuff though.

still not sure how we let that game slip away, two nil up by half time, turned off my phone and got down to making cheesecake, come back to it, and stoke have put the kibosh on the first win of the season.
Welcome addition of Clinton Njie, adding some pace up front, wondering if he's in to put pressure on Lamela, or as a slightly tangential replacement for Soldado/Adebayor. Seems like we're leaving our business to the last minute as usual, thinking letting stambouli and capoue go could bite us in the arse, as we're a bit thin around defensive midfield, unless The Sheriff is going all out attack and having two central midfielders who are progressive and can push forward, forcing the opposition to contain them rather than vice versa... -

Why does your cheesecake recipe require your phone to be switched off?

Gamma rays, obviously.

Er, baking is an artisan process requiring craft and focus. Modern technology will interrupt the nurturing of the truly unique cheesecake making experience rendering said cheesecake worse than the one made by someone who doesn't understand the history and culture behind the making of cheesecakes.

Isn't cheesecake just Philadelphia, with a bit of sugar stirred in, spread on a digestive biscuit?

making cheesecake
Has bad voiceover.
Has obvious soul soundtrack for getting your groove greased. -

Still not seeing why you need to switch the phone off. Granted it's a bit impolite to be taking calls while makin' cheesecake, but following the football's ok isn't it?

Unless you're a Spuds fan, no point in both of them being disappointed.

Big game tomorrow. You could call it the Bedwetter Derby. 'Boro looking good and Derby looking terrible. Therefore 3-0 to Derby.
Hang on, are there any Chelsea fans on this thread that still live in the UK apart from Clive?
