We can look forward to massive media coverage of Liverpool fans gathered in their hundreds around big telly's to cheer their team on to a CL place. Only to end up failing in the Europa League again next year. You should get Rafa back, he's got a good EL record.

And Chelsea the team that have spend billions of pounds over the past ten years have such an enviable record in the Champions League do they?
No they don't

It's £645m net spend since the PL began. I'll save you the time looking up Liverpools it's £326m. Chelsea's total buys are a shade over £1b. And yes our record gives us a 4th place in the EUFA coefficient and Liverpool are placed 40th. So we have a record good enough to ensure that you get into the CL if you come 4th, you should be thanking us.

Oh give me strength. We are back to this are we. The fact remains that Chelsea and Arsenal and Man United have poor records in Europe considering the amount they have spent and/or the time they have spent in the competition and/or the supposed tactical intelligence of their managers.

Utterly hopeless

Big night at the top of the Championship tonight. Derby vs 'Boro with the rest of the top 6 away.

I'm not feeling overly confident about 'Boro's chances of a win tonight even though Derby are not in the greatest of form. I think they will be up to prove a point after being made to look worse than they are at the riverside.

You've got to be in it to win it (or in Arsenal's case, go out in the first knockout round) though.

I don't think our fans are too confident about this either. We don't really have a suitable striking option for the formation we prefer to play and we had to play an academy defender as a defensive midfielder against Norwich on Saturday due to injuries to our three senior DMs. We played some of the most scrappy football we have since McClaren came in and looked a bit fragile.

Hopefully we can make the most of your weak away form at the moment and I'll be more confident if Thorne is fit in time to play. I don't think Martin or Bent will be fit enough to make the squad.

We're relying on Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday tonight. Harrumph.

United are shorter odds to qualify for the top 4, but Liverpool are shorter odds to win at Anfield on Sunday. I'm sure there is some kind of arbitrage bet you can place, but I'm not a gambler. United still have Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Chelsea to play, whilst Liverpool have United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Are you then going to link it to a display that shows where you are on the mikec season rollercoaster?

It's not JSON, but parsing the BBC's results page HTML is quite easy, you can then spit it out in JSON.

Don't fancy doing a curl or scrape. I found an API which gives the league tables, teams, and results etc. It will do for now
