@cornelius_blackfoot rival: something or someone that is as good or almost as good as another person or thing.
e.g. not Spurs, that beating was a glitch.
As for the Stevie G "hate". It's not hate, it's bewilderment. Want me to put the definition up for that as well?

@tommmmmmm are you ready for the return of Darren bent? He should be making his Derby debut against you on the 10th.
I'm actually quite happy with the signing. I know he's had his problems, but with the right management he could and should be a useful addition to a promotion chasing squad.
Only paying £20k a week of his wages as well, apparently. Not a bad bit of business.
Signing Ssewankambo (lol) too. Apparently he was brought up through the Chelsea youth system. Any of you plastics know much about him?

He was great when Rafa sussed him out. "Just stay sort of wide, bit up front but not a striker, deffo not a midfielder. When you get the bwall fucking hammer it at goal".
He changed games with goals. He played air drums. And. Most importantly, let's not forget, he isn't john terry. -

Yeah, he might be a thug but he's not a racist thug.

Ha, I was waiting for Bent to score against us for Brighton in February but I guess that has been brought forward!
I like Bent a lot, him and Hefty Shefqi up front is the best strike partnership I've seen at Town. I'm not sure how we'd have shoehorned him in with McGoldrick and Murphy playing so well at the moment, not to mention Conor Sammon on the bench, but he's probably the most naturally talented striker in the league.

@ derby folk
is jordan ibe better than raheem yet ?
the last 5 or 6 games i've become disillusioned with the end product from sterling either he gives away a foul or gives away the ball when he has possession
what has ibe looked like, read a few reports recently he's doing quite well and scoring a few goals under the derby tutelage -

Ibe has played well since he came on against Chelsea in the cup. Seems to look up a bit more often and pass to a team mate.
He still has a tendency to run himself into dead ends and his constant cutting in onto his right foot doesn't help him against better full backs.
He has scored some nice goals and he undoubtedly has a bright future. Not sure he's what Liverpool need at the moment.

Indeed. Fucking Mark Lawrenson has his top ten Liverpool legends on the BBC website. I'm surprised they stopped at ten.
Gerard is second btw, which is fucking disgraceful when you look at the honours won by other Liverpool players when they were good back in the day of black and white tv.

Andy unlike most of the other top domestic teams in recent times SG hasn't had the luxury of top drawer players around him apart that La Liga fire sale (alonso, arbeloa, masch) squad.

What is funny is the amount of bandwidth spent on someone rated so shit, playing for a team rated so shit...Is there so little to talk about with cfc or mcfc? Or maybe as Joe says...no one cares./
Nowt as queer as folk...

I think we're responding to the media over reaction as much as anything. It's incredible how many column inches have been devoted to this, even by modern standards.
Lampard's decision last summer wasn't covered like this and he is, arguably, the better player. He's certainly won far more in terms of honours.

Typical. Trying to squeeze Lampard and Gerrard into the same space....

What's our opinion on Stevie's contract saga? Money talks? Bullshit walks?
Bit of a mcnanaman / Owen trick?>
He doesn't really have any resale value. Thing is moneyballz® says we can't have players above a certain age, earning above a certain amount of dough, not playing a minimal amount of games...hence Agger getting bounced out and Johnson getting played despite being shit for 2.5 years.
BR has been his own worst enemy by being gutless and making idiotic subs. He's used up a lot of his credit. We finally saw a decent performance with the result to match against the Swans only to regress to the maligned gerrard/lucas axis in the middle against the foxes. We'd have better energy with Last of the Summer Wine in the engine room....dead or not. But then again what do you expect with SG as his landlord? (Moved in to SG's after he left his missus)
It's the outcome BR wanted without having to be the one that kicked SG out of the club.
I hope someone gets a signed jose sketch of BIG BALLS and sticks it in Brenda's envelope.
The club would be fucking stupid to sever ties but the player needs a fresh break. Deserves it.

Can't wait for that whining twat to piss off to the states. Good riddance.
Apparently he could have joined either of Chelsea and Bayern Munich but he preferred to stay with LFC. Big fish in a small pond.
Rather than playing as part of the team he wants to be the team. Alonso, Mascherano, Arbeloa and ,god only knows how, Torres have all left LFC and gone to achieve bigger things yet slippy G preferred to stay and cash in to the tune of >£200k a week for his mediocre contribution.
The adulation of fans and the media hasn't stopped to baffle me for one day during his entire career.>
So big english clubs are defined by the size of 'their' oil wells? Also, I thought saint jose sets you out as put upon by everyone...kinda like a small Millwall with more lions on your chest. Are you a small pond or a big one? Or medium?
How much did good ol Winston pocket from from his love of chelsea?
