  • TFSW to replace Brenda next season.
    #tapsnose

  • I would love to see TFSW back in England. He would get an almighty reception at Stamford Bridge.

  • Solid performance last night with some quality goals, first and third in particular.

  • cmburns, in case you haven't noticed, no one gives two shits about the national team on this thread unless it's to mock them.

  • Wouldn't he just.

  • Cech to the Arse stories popping up everywhere... £7m? Madness...

Good thing I'm still in bed cuz I need a lie down after that news...

  • Why would Cech move to be number two at Arsenal when he could stay as number two at Chelsea. Why would Chelsea lose an asset such as Cech for £7 million.

  • Now if Arsenal offered £25 million and the promise of the number one slot, it might be different.

    They have the money.

  • I think his club team is Fulham, so he needs to be positive about something.

  • That explains a lot.

FA forced to intervene to stop England band playing anti-IRA songs

    http://gu.com/p/43evf

That looks like a Chelsea flag, not classy.

The England band getting banned will improve things 100% and moving away from a half empty Wembley will as well.
Perhaps they can try a WWWN in Stoke?

  • Nope. Was a Cardiff fan who walked out after the whole red bullshit, cancelled my season ticket and don't have anything to do with the club anymore. I just can't watch a team called the bluebirds play in fucking red with a badge featuring a huge dragon and some poncey 'fire and passion' slogan. Still saddens me and I wouldn't wish any of the bullshit Tan has pulled on any football fan.

As far as international football is concerned I moved over the border at a very young age and latched onto England with Euro 96. Whilst it's currently hardly a thrill ride the England team is all I really have in terms of giving a shit about.

  • The club is bigger than the owner. It happens to a lot of clubs, Owners/Tyrants come and go. Only plastics sever all their ties with the club in a mardy little strop and go and support the national team of a country they weren't even born in...

  • Oh whatever. Tan is not one who's going to go anytime soon, he's made that clear. Also can you pick anyone else out that has gone through such a drastic 'rebranding' as Cardiff have done in say, the last 10/15 years? Try and see how you'd get on if your team changed had their identity gone at the drop of a hat.

  • That looks like a Chelsea flag, not classy.>

Erm hello! Of course Chelsea fans are going to be involved. What else would they be doing there?

I myself am confused by the Scots. They vote Yes in the little vote they had the other week, then they boo our anthem. Half of them boo their own song and no one actually seemed to know the words to it, or indeed if there are any words.
    The are a strange bunch

  • ^^ Not in the last 10 to 15 years, but most clubs have changed a lot since their inceptions. Newton Heath became Manchester United, Leicester Fosse became Leicester City etc. Club colours have changed too. Don Revie changed Leeds' colours from Blue and Yellow to white and had great success.

Come on, get over yourself. It's not like Cardiff have a proud history to bang on about. I just checked and the only thing of note that they have ever won is the 1927 FA Cup.

  • @cliveo
£25 mill for the number one slot?

I hope you'd get the girlfriend experience with that as well.

  • I don't know any Chelsea fan personally that cares about the England team these days.

Sounds like another one of those injuries that could have been avoided if his training routine wasn't so demanding.

  • Liverpool are fucked. I'm putting my eggs on Wegner leaving Arsenal and them becoming a semi-decent team once again so I can take my kid to watch them and thus support them by proxy

  • Bergkamp for Arsenal manager.

  • MK Dons although that did involve a relocation as well.

@cmburns Would you support them again if they went back to being the bluebirds?

@roboto Would you still support Derby if they rebranded to the East Midland Jets and changed the strip to blue?

I would be tested by that one and it's not a million miles from what Tan has done in trying to get more regional support.

  • What about The Just South of Yorkshire Midgets?

  • Sorry, PORGS (People Of Restricted Growth)

  • If that scenario were to happen I would stick with the club. I'd still know them as my club and if the change was still unpopular when the owner that made the changes left, it would probably get reverted. Owners and investors come and go.

We've had bad owners in the past and dealt with it. The Three Amigos nearly killed us off completely.

No one would rebrand us as East Midlands Jets anyway. That crazy fella at the City Ground has probably already earmarked his team for a name change.

  • I don't know any Chelsea fan personally that cares about the England team these days.

I discovered yesterday that my apathy towards England was outbalanced by my dislike of Scotland. I actually wanted England to win. I was surprised. Felt a bit dirty cheering when Shrek scored.

While I know very few Chelsea supporters who also support England on an active basis, I do know some who would do anything to wind up Scotch people. If they have done nothing else, it seems that they may have finished off the England band which is to be applauded.
