Spurs are the team with something to prove, the Arse will finish top four... No question...

• #111004
You're not far off, sadly. Lloris was outstanding, Kaboul so solid, Vertonghen needs game time but I thought Rose did really well against Oxlade-Chamberlain. Eriksen was terrible, Capoue was missing for most of the game and Adebayor only seemed to be moving when the ball was moving towards him..

Lovely game from Chelsea today, particularly the build up for Costa's goal. The players seem to be able to find each other with such ease.
-

I disagree, I thought Mason was solid, looked like he actually wanted to affect the game and not over-awed at all. He got stuck into Wilshere several times! First half was better, but I reckon he just needs more time to adapt to the PL.

Are you having a laugh?! I'd fucking hope you'd be getting better!
Will we be getting better than today's performance? Yes I'd say we'd have to, if we want to finish in the top 4 but only Citeh are looking much better than us.
And obvz Chelsea but for me they're just so far ahead this season.

^ says a lot about the standard of this year's league when only City and Chelsea are better than you.. That being said, Swansea and Southampton have both looked a lot better than you so far. We're even further off though :(

Seating comfortably around a table and finding a consensus which satisfy the parts enough for signing a compliant accord will be an abdicating act.

Love this Koeman quote:
"I had promised my wife we would have a day off on Wednesday. But the players wanted to train! I had said to her, ‘Tomorrow morning, nice croissant for breakfast.’ Then it was, ‘I have to train.’ She said, ‘I thought you have a day off.’ I said, ‘But the players like to train.’ She was, ‘Oh no, fuck off!’"

Goals in Arsenal vs. Tottenham draw tell a tale of two teams http://espnfc.com/blog/name/60/post/2058699/headline?ex_cid=null -via ESPN FC http://es.pn/fcapp
One for corndog - Michael Cox seems to rate Chadli higher than the average spurs fan.

Lets face it koeman doesn't look like a yentzer. Bet he tells his mrs he has to train all pre season too.

Have no idea how anyone else played, missed motd as I was out shaking what my momma gave me...
Looking forward to Europa league on Thursday, to see if the pressing of the opposition can be carried on an intensified in that game. -

That Pelle goal is Goal of the Season contender. So, so good. Still flabbergasted that MOTD were so meh about it...

Should have been yellow carded for a high foot [/modernrefereeing]

I'm glad that was in the same game as Charlie Austin's, and that it overshadowed his. Pelle is a top man, so dreamy.

^he created a hype with school boys wanting a "pelle haircut" 'ere in nl.
i am quite intrigued by him; he first arrived in nl as a high profile buy by az alkmaar after excelling in a youth euro or something like that.
failed miserably in his first season. went on loan to italy, came back, did marginally better. off to italy again and all of a sudden he pops up at feyenoord again, becoming a very important player.
its good to see him do well in engerland, hope the success doesnt go to his head and he fucks up.

I thought his barnet looked familiar...that's what I had always called 'the Rodolfo look'.
Joking aside:
Where's that 'I'm not gay, but...' thread?
-
• #111023
ha! i look more like andy carroll nowadays with the hairdo, but with a full beard to boot, so arty, much architect.
he has quite a large following in gay circles i believe, and to be honest, hes a good looking, tall, athletic chap. and italians have a certain style and manner that is more, affeminate, then us north euro boys. really weird though, in such a machismo culture, but thats one for the sociologists on here. im threading on thin ice here, but i hope you understand.
lets stop discussing his looks and get to his football, but i think his presence and "aura" makes him a better footballer, and most importantly striker.

A great step forwards for us yesterday. I know Burnley are nowhere close to a proper PL team but, throughout the game, we pressed and played fast, attractive football.
The team looked a lot more together than they did against Everton and I would be hard pressed to point the finger at anyone for having a bad game.
The next two games for us are crucial; Liverpool away and Man U at home. With rocky starts from both, we've got to believe a point or two are available...
@Tenderloin feel you're being a bit harsh with the spurs judgement. Despite the huffing and puffing, ozil, cazorla, wilshire, Sanchez, Ramsay all pretty much flattered to deceive, lots of build up not so much end product.
We'll get better wondering if the same can be said for you?
