Ideal result - Germany hump Dutch, Argentina hump Brazil, Luiz gets Escobared in a pub car park.
Really?
Even by the football thread standards, this plumbs new depths.

Kind of stopped watching after the fifth goal. Got into some flat tidying..
Luiz isn't the man to hold any sort of defensive fort, PSG must be scared about how much money they've spent on him...
Brazil resorted to the long diagonal, as they couldn't pass it out of defence, just bypassing the midfield. Oscar couldn't do anything, Hulk again wanted to win it by himself, and proved he's too prone to losing the ball. Fred wasn't the worse player on the pitch, and didn't deserve to be booed. He didn't have any service, AT ALL!
Team fell apart after the 2nd goal and Scolari will fall on his sword, the only issue is where do they go from here, coaches never have much of a lifespan in the brazil job, and the public won't have much patience for a rebuilding job, what with the copa america coming next year. Could be wholesale bloodletting and most of this squad should be worried about whether they'll ever wear the shirt again.
Scolari tied his own hands by not taking more attacking midfielders who could link play, or provide an outlet, seems like a massive oversight not to take Lucas Moura or Coutinho, and any other defender apart from david luiz..
Not sure what would be more fun Argentina beating germany in brazil in the final, or holland beating germany in the final to win their first world cup...

Forget tactics corny this was all about emotion. Emotions can take you to great places beyond your expectations but they can leave you hopelessly exposed. Brazil had little to no control over their emotions and were shot to pieces by a team able to professionally harness their emotions to help them achieve success. Four goals in six minutes?! Thats unheard of on a stage like this and pretty poor for sunday football. Brazil as a nation probably got served a massive dose of 'wake the fuck up'.

Wrong.
Brazil are/were shit. That's all that was needed.
They missed the big lad at the back of the defence. The keeper is shit.
And throughout the tournament they were reliant on:
1) kicking lumps out of everyone
2) giving the ball to their cockpony
3) refscounter argue that.

I love how Luiz is absolutely nowhere fucking near the ball in any of the goals. I'm not very knowledgeable about football but should't the job of a central defender at least involve being near to where the ball is going?
-
• #107595
That depends on which part of the pitch the ball is and whether the team is in possession of said ball.

Stat of the day:
'Germany scored two more goals in this game alone than England did in their past two World Cups combined'.

Well in the gifs the Germans had the ball in the Brazilian penalty area. Obviously!
