So I took Mrs O to Rome and gave away my tickets to her cousin's husband as she instructed me. Managed to find an Irish bar - the Scholars Lounge just across from the Jesuit Church - to watch the game in the company of a few dozen genuine Irish Mancs and one Italian and one American Chelsea supporters. Loads of screens showing seven of the final day games. No one watching the scousers or the Citeh match. Commentary on the Manc game until the last five minutes which was a mercy. Mancs silent by half time. Three Chelsea raising the roof.
Wembley had better be good.
Err are there many fake ones ? Or is this ironic ?

I'm off down the bookies shortly to put a tenner on Barry Fry as the next West Ham manager.

According to the daily fail, Spurs are going to be seeded in the CL qualifying round meaning we will not play Sevilla, Ajax, Porto etc.
-
• #10514
No west ham..you can't have di'matteo. just face it , the academy of football has shifted and now rests in west bromwich.

I would imagine that Sullivan and Gold are somewhat off Italian fare at the moment and they tend to have British managers. Hughes would be my guess however given the resurrection of Steve Mclaren, Hughes just might go continental to Germany instead.
-
• #10516
Steve McLaren?!? Dear God, no! Sparky would be awesome at Upton Park, doubt he'd do it tho'...
-
• #10517
I think the Avram Grant shout is a good call.
Pompey did pretty well under him. He's also a proper manager. He organises the resources he has and makes thing happen. Unlike many managers who drag around the same coaches and the same players etc.
Failing that give Paul Ince another run.
Glen Hoddle should come back to the game too!

west ham are screwed. they can't afford anyone in McClaren's or Hughes' calibre. my money is on pardew to return or some such cheap option
-
• #10519
I was pointing to Steve McLaren as the new model for English managers resurrecting their careers away from the Premiership/Championship.
+1 though - Hughes would do a great job at Wet Spam

• #10520
Yeah i'd like to see grant there. problem is with the board. West Ham are fkrs
Shhteeve Mclaren already has a new job - Wolfsburg
-
• #10521
good to see jo ts back in the land of the living with the rest of us 'losers!!'
-
• #10522
Wolfshhhburg.
-
• #10523
Paul Ince would be tragic, Avram Grant is a good call but the new owners are gonna put the wind up any big name manager coming in... I'd love to see West Ham back on their feet, great club...
-
• #10524
john gregory?! that would be a suitable continuation of his slide through quality
