Ride in the buff
I've got three of these (1 fleece, 1 merino, 1 thin polyester).
+1 Buffs FTW.
Merino?! where from?

Northern line to work - black snot.
I get the feeling the colour of the line corresponds with the colour of your snot. Luckily I tend to use the District line the most.

that pretty much what happen really, it like wearing glasses, stopped for a moment, a mere millisecond and it´ll get steamed up more than Kate Winslet in Titanic
Reminds me other the only time I went out wearing a balaclava, which I thought would be a top way of keeping the cold from my face.
My breathing against the fabric in front of my mouth forced exhaled air upward into my specs. I couldn't see a sodding thing.

What a crap article. Despite inconclusive evidence, and other remedial courses of action if that evidence were true, the ultimate conclusion is that it is the behaviour of the victim that needs to be changed.
We already know that london is failing to meet many of it's pollution targets, and will likely face a fine from the EU.
Address that? No.

Has anyone actually tried something that allows you to breath (quite) comfortably?*

nice post spybot.
i see a lot fewer cyclists wearing anti pollution masks than i used to in the 90's

Rapha merino neck warmer.

Rapha merino neck warmer.
How is that supposed to be breathable?
I've tried cycling in merino buff and after couple of miles it gets completely wet.
I'm using seirus scarf when it's really cold and it does the job well.
What i'm looking for is anti pollution mask for warmer days and i was hoping that someone tried something that works better than respro and can recommend it. -

I'm still alive.
Much better than a balaclava made of technical fabric (ie. polysomething) -

Get anti-pollution mask. That's what is for.
-

Also, I think it's worse if you are a mouthbreather - more condensation.

That's the plan. Don't know which one yet.
Respro makes breathing difficult, trying to find alternative. Also, I think it's worse if you are a mouthbreather -
more condensation.That's probably my problem.

I also tried bike masks and had the same problems that others have discussed. Also, from involvement with pollution research it seems the most toxic particles urban commuters are exposed to are too fine for any mask to reliably filter them and also allow breathing at a rate that allows one to ride at any rate. That said I haven't looked at latest mask tech recently and am happy to be corrected.

has anyone tried the Totobobo : http://totobobo.com/
looks fuggin disgusting though - like you'd also be hiding a colostomy bag in your backpack.

They are supercool

just bought the Respro Techno (in blue for £20),
my throat seems as if too many taxi fumes have settled there (after three months of commuting to near Euston Station - and always passing a great many taxis when crossing Euston Road via Gordon St.)

verdict: similar conclusion to the author of this post, concerning condensation and the mask being a little restrictive on neck movement, so, have bought a Totobobo for further air-intake testing soon..

How was the totobobo?
yet to use it!!
- although did see somebody wearing one today/yesterday,
they can only be more comfortable than the dehumanising Respro things - seen plenty of alien-like cyclists with these recently!
mine is still up for grabs if anybody wants to experience the taste of their own sweat!

So how was the totobobo in the end 6 month on do you still use it? Was there any noticeable difference in how you felt, science aside did you feel think it was making a difference?

Doctors say no.
one benefit of commuting. Steaming off after work. Coming home released of all
pressure. I wore a mask in summer and a dry cough I had for 3 weeks went after a few days. Just my personal experience tho
