Good thanks, Rob... About to go out for a Boxing Day BBQ... This place rules! :]
Haven't had a chance to take the bike out in Brissy yet, just lots of rides along the coast here in Scarborough... Very nice... -

how come i don't ride for Charge?? i've got everything they need: tight butt, my own hair, i can bunny hop, i can sing, i'm patriotic, earthy, heartfelt.
fuck. i'm a charge boy. sign. me. up. -

maybe you're not on charge because you use the term 'fixters'...
and maybe the reason they look like uncomfortable models is because they're not models but actual riders! one of whom is one of my best friends and also my flatmate.
and the others are all friends too. -

These are 'genuine' riders, who have been riding 'fixters' for a year or more. I've been biting my tongue on some of the neg comments (not least because one is my girlfriend, a couple are some of my best friends in the world and another couple I've known for years), but its a bit silly to criticise without knowing who and what you're talking about.
Not that it really matters, but Juliet and Posy both ride for Charge. Juliet (Julio) used to be a model (cover of Italian Vogue, three times), but if you asked her about it she'd probably just grin and play it all down. The three in the pic are Robofoxx, Em and Mackenzie on here.
The most important thing is how much fun they're having riding their bikes.

Other than photoshoots and a free bike, do they get actual payment for being 'sponsored'? Or do they get paid in plaid shirts and skinny jeans?
-

i think they are really cool shots

I think the photoshoot is awesome. Aside from the fact the photography is really nice - I'm sure most people saw the Loaded(?) feature on Fixed Gear bikes recently. I'd much rather Huck showed some 'normal' girls on bikes modelling clothes that they look comfortable in and look like they're having fun, than to look in Loaded and see a feature split across some hussy with her jams out standing not-so-authentically astride a bike and some guy telling every bastard how to build a conversion from parts on eBay.

It's worth pointing out, I'm not adverse to hussies with their jams out... just in the context of bicycle features in Loaded it's a little unimaginative.

I remember when mountain bikes were getting big, MBUK had "Girls that ride mountain bikes" and normal blokes magazine i.e. FHM/GQ/Men's health had articles about mountain biking.
Anyhow nice pics thanks.

I'm sorry but some people in here are so hypocritical..........

Shock horror, a girl rides a bike. What the fuck is a "proper fixster" away? Someone rides a bike for a week, someone rides one for five years. But they still are both riding fixed right?
It still shocks me that a class system tries to rear it's ugly head in cycling (not just in this thread all the time), despite cycling being a device that has throughout history broken down the class barrier.

That photo up top is wicked and I love it.
I've searched and searched but no one seems to have brought this up:
