No carp.. Mal doesn't like fish so we had frozen haddock fillets from Waitrose, since they only just resemble fish ;)
Cabbage in some of the salads and a sourkraut thing.
Barsch a beetroot soup, ravioli-type pasta things named after ears,
krokety, kinda like sausage rolls but vegie made with mushrooms, nice.
Another type of soup which has egg in it, zurek or something.
Um, I think Xmas eve is supposed to be vegie ('cept the fish) and xmas day you get your meat, like chicken fillets, lamb, more salads, different sausage roll type things (meat ones), kluski slonskie - dumpling things with gravy on 'em -

A tasty 3-bird roast (non-sexual). A quail inside a pheasant inside a duck, or some shit like that.
Guess you could keep going if you had enough different birds. Maybe stuff the duck in a goose and the goose in a swan and finish up with an ostrich.
makes note for next year

That's kind of like a turducken, right? - 'A dish consisting of a partially de-boned turkey stuffed with a de-boned duck which itself is stuffed with a small de-boned chicken.'
Not to be confused with the tofurkey (the tofu turkey).

Hugh Fearnley Wittingstall did that with 10 birds. http://www.squidoo.com/hughfearnlywhittingstall
This year I succesfully stuffed a brussel sprout with a pea and then shoved the whole lot in turnip. -

Bloody hell. (Or perhaps 'Stone the crows' would have been more appropriate!)
Here's the full hitlist:
- Woodcock, inside a
- Partridge, inside a
- Pigeon, inside a
- Pheasant, inside a
- Guinea, fowl inside a
- Mallard, inside a
- Chicken, inside a
- Aylesbury Duck, inside a
- Goose, inside a

Glad I didn't get this as a quiz question as I would not have put them in this order. My poor grasp of relative bird size shames me...

Haha. Sounds delicious!
Do you mean to suggest that you have made unsuccessful attempts in previous years?! Glad it finally came good ;-)
