Yup Unions are where its at, i rode Salomon Relay Pros for a season and liked them alot, but have been on Unions for the last 2 years, though i have frankenbindered my older ones by fitting Burton Super Cap straps as i had problems with the toe straps slipping, though this years Unions have a new toe cap design that is a lot better. Rocking Forces and Contacts this season, and wouldnt ride anything else now.
What i like about them is they are very responsive toe to heel, but have a very forgiving lateral flex, similar to the idea behind the Relays, and they have no bullshit parts on them, pure function and very easy to set up, more adjustment than pretty much any other binding, and great padding on the baseplate

i just find it really wrong that there's a snowboarding thread on a bike forum. how many people die snowboarding every year? surely there's a snowboarding forum you could all go to? just fuck off. go on, fuck off.
i'm going to write me some hate mail...

It does make me wonder (even amuse me) about the fact that the carbon emissions from short and long haul flights, in pursuit of a leisure activity, are broadly comparable to those emitted by motorists, a lot of whom (as much as we hate to admit it) are making journeys for work that would have been unreasonably difficult to make via more sustainable approaches. The amusing part is that this thread hasn't been subject to the same abuse that the car thread has...

boo fucking hoo.
If there's a thread that i like, i'll write in it. I hope you're joking Nimbhus.
We have numerous fucking wanky threads amongst this forum, but skate/snow threads are merely an addition to the individualistic views of our members.;?

Shall we start a list? Then we can get a date sorted out.

That said, I went here recently... Cost the same for the whole day as it does an hour at MK - and yes, those are chairlifts. http://landgraaf.snowworld.com/pages/pageobjectpage/s2/homepage_en.aspx?lang=en

Lovely, I just got back from a trip to Val thorens from 10 days with a mate
- lots of snow, great weather, good powder (for the first few days)
-both of us got really ill bad flu, stopped us ridiing for 2 days and left us weak and shitty for the rest of it, park consisted of one rail, 2 kickers and a hip, not finished but not much else to write home about anyway!
Big fan of austria, I prefer it to france for sure, haven't done USA yet but park city is on my list! - lots of snow, great weather, good powder (for the first few days)

I think we did two days there, and were away for four days in total. Ferry across to Dunkirk and then drove across Belgium.
The park was better than some that I've ridden in resorts - and it's all colour coded like on the mountain too. You've got your ride-on boxes and small kickers for the greens, up to red c-rails and wallrides. I wish I'd pushed myself harder - would be good to have a bit of a session and try some new stuff - I've got a thing for no-grab stuff at the moment having watched Shaun White's section in 91 Words for Snow again recently...

the viz is fine, due to everything being tree based.

oh and there's night skiing (which makes the skiing day 7:30am till 8:30pm).
in chest deep powder.
ridiculous.
I'm tempted to hire some snow shoes and go for a climb soon. Half the mountain has been closed for 2 days- too much wind, but its fine down below. -

Damn.... whats the park like?
