I don't hate saloman, I hate burton cos the shitty cartels I had broke twice, before I totalled one of them.
-
• #178
You did! You were spitting about them back in 2007, must I dig around?
-
• #179
Not sure that I remember taking a dig at Saloman, but if I did whatever, I love my relay pro bindings, responsive, flex where I need them to, and seemingly indestructible!

Me likey ^
My current set up:
GNU 11up 162cmw (wide)
Saloman Relay pro bindings, (after breaking some shitty burton cartels, never buying burton again!)
Burton Hail boots, served me well but they've had a lot of use, and the shell has started to die and lose a lot of shape/rigidity, so they are getting replaced before the next holiday.i know what you mean...i'm size 11 and its FUCKING SO HARD to find a good freestyle board. they're all built for 5ft5 60kg skandi/euro rippers - not anyone over 6ft and 85kg.
so different when you're riding. whatever your size/weight you can either custom build perfection or it exists.
as a result i've been through so many boards trying to find utopia. will never buy burton or apo again. seen masses of burton bindings break on the hill. that set of 390's is my second pair. my first pair are still in perfect nick.
i got the board from slopestyle in morzine haggling JP in their end of season sale. he told me about the bindings so i tracked the last pair in the universe down in canada - also in the sale for $100 canadian...result.
if the piste is choppy though this one is too flappy. need a stiffer freestyle board too for the pow...quiver of 2 should do it.
as for saloman, if its good enough for benedek its good enough for everyone.

I reckon banana and union/saloman bindings and you have a sick set up, my dream set-up at the moment would be a lib-tech skunk ape (I have big size 12 feet/boots lol) datas/relay pro's and some top of the range freestyle/all mountain boots from 32 probably :)
union will be fucking ballistic in 2 years - especially now they got kass and gigi ruf. i had a pair of force bindings sent to me once to check them out and wasn't that into the toestrap. the overall binding though was incredible - sposed to be the seasonaires choices as they're megaton bomb proof.
rate highly 32's. currently on a set of 3 season old timbas! they're great looking but too low tech. will be either in a set of lashed or a diff colorway in dem AF1's i posted...so sick

buddah - pls no ski porn...start your own shizzle
in fact just take a photo of my stick..., stretch it length ways, stick some magnetron edges on it and a rocker and thats what all skiers will be riding in 2 years. you lot are typically about that far off pace and borrow all our ideas, tricks and handshakes so no borrow this thread grazzi (with the greatest respect, of course).

I have Flow freeride bindings (10 years old) on my Duotone - Grand Style.
I find it to be a nice responsive set-up.had a duotone once - nice board...suprisingly good all rounder. would not venture out on 10 yr old bindings tho...you're a brave man!

hadn't considered that...think my gnarly days (on the road) are over. just recently wronged myself. snow and even ice is a lot softer than steel and tarmac.

I have nearly 30 boards, and about to take delivery of a couple of next seasons Libs, a TRice with the new CBTX, new Danny Kass, and a Lando Phoenix - i have a hook up with Lib/Gnu in the US, already have next years Gnu Park Pickle witch is basically an asymmetric Skate Banana - been riding Unions too for the last 4 seasons.
Been rocking Libs for about 10 years now, but have a couple of Bataleons from the last couple of seasons, a K2 Gyrator for the Pow Pow, always grab a couple of Burtons to see whats up with them, but cant say i like most of em save for my fish, had a couple of Romes too.
Got a Yes on the way too, new brand set up by DCP, RDM and JP from the old Uninc team, made in the nidecker factory with some interesting tech
