  • I think you were talking to me when that photo was taken (?) I would have been just out of shot on the right.

    PICTURE DELETED

I am not happy with that arrangement of words.

You were indeed just out of shot for that phoro.
Would you be happier with, "Tynan's Deity of doubtful existence"?

  • was tynan kicking mother teresa?

  • trixie chics

    object is a bad influence!

  • and sheldon ride...
not so much the photo but meeting jimbo, jim jams, matt, sheepy... for the first time... bromance.

that day was one of the best days of 2008 for me. I registered on the forum the night before to join the ride after cracking up at threads for months. I rode up to Holborn and met two guys at the lights who were riding fixed bikes. It was Sheep and Matt. We rode up to Hyde Park chatting. Then there was Fruitbat, Jonny, Tommy, Cornelius, Provenrad, Hillbilly, Shins... I dug all the beautiful bikes and we talked through the cold, slow, post-snow ride round London. Afterwards we warmed up in the Foundry with beer and bagels and talked some more. Bike shit, bike geekery, build advice and enthusiasm from some of the friendliest people I'd met in ages - it was what I'd been needing after so long poring over Sheldon Brown and FGG by myself.

I remember the girl I'd just started seeing at the time - a girl who I was in the middle of a dream-like first week with - calling me when I was on my fourth pint and telling me she was taking me out for dinner later on so not to get too drunk. And I remember at that point thinking that this day was probably as good as days get.

There haven't been many other moments this year when I felt as content as I did that Sunday afternoon. Most of them have involved people from the forum and our bikes.

  • I am so fucking bald. At least that cigarette makes me look like Clint Eastwood.
I'd be more worried about how fucking miserable you look rather than the baldness.

    Says the baldy.

That was at the BFF polo tournament. Freezing and rainy. I was on my bike doing laps before our next match, trying to warm up.

    Was still an excellent day.

  • Says the baldy.

I've been balding since I was your age. Some days I wish it would get fucking on with it.

Anyway, it was meant to be a throwaway jokey comment so no offence was intended. I hope none was taken.

  • I come across better in photos than real life.

    No you don't.

  • Fuckin 'ell that took ages to find!

    Finally.

taken by kev, Aug 17th Polo Championship.

amazing shot, BJC looks totally devastated.

Ha, you didn't say anything even vaguely offensive.

Plus, baldies (like beardies) gots to stick together.

My balding started unfortunately early. I went from being called "Luke Skywalker" in high school to getting compliments for my many hats.

  • jim jams youve missed the whole thread too late, submission to this thread ended 13 mins ago.
