selling this, would take a lower offer if someone wanted it in brum.

  • In my old age I think I have posted this but can't find it again so:
Planet-x carbon seatpost. Fitted to my pompino for all of a month, but I'm a luddite and hold no truck with carbon fibre. I've downgraded to an alloy seatpost and am much happier with that.
They're £72 new + delivery, I'd be happy with a bit under half that, or a trade for a silver alloy seatpost in the genre of the planet x superlight (needs to be longer than 250 though).
27.2 in all cases. Link to planet x

  • hello fellow brummites
i'm on the look out for a singlespeed mtb frame.
    cheers me dears

  • n3lson, does it have to be modern?

Im doing a bit of work at an old bike shop and theyve got loads of really old mtb frames, a few with semi-horizontal drops. They usually sell em for about £40 if its made of something decent like 531.

  • modern is not a priority, which bike shop you at?

  • Has anyone got a spare brake lever, crosstop or BMX style, standard clamp size? possibly the left of a set or something? Cheers!

I may also have a set of Sugino 75 cranks available soon if anyone would be interested. reasonably well used, with a little bit of the threading sheared on one side (not enough to cause problems getting 'em off..)

  • I might have a brake lever, and I may also be interested in those 75's dependent on length & price of course.

  • the cranks are 165. Would also have a campy BB for 45mm chainline and I'll check to see the condition of the 75 BB too if either of them could be useful. Just looked at the threads - it seems to be literally half a thread thats come off, I'll get some pictures up in a bit. Maybe about 80 ONO. Or something nice in JIS.

  • anyone got any shimano double cranks with or without chainrings, any old condition, square taper? cheers all.

  • I do actually, dura ace (though not carbon fibre), with chainrings

  • Anyone got a large chainring? For the smaller chain size.. Need to up my speed!

  • Thomas, you need to measure the bcd to find out what type of chainring you need or tell us the model of the cranks.

  • They're Campagnolo 'Centaur'. Says 172.5 on the chain ring arm.

  • They're Campagnolo 'Centaur'. Says 172.5 on the chain ring arm.

The bcd/pcd (bolt/pitch circle diameter) is the distance between the bolts - centre to centre - that hold the chainring.
    172.5 is the arm length
135mm is your bcd i believe from having a quick search.

    RIP

  • Would anyone happen to have a set of deep drop handlebars for sale? 40cm preferred. The bars i'm using at the moment are too shallow - so they're up for exchange if required.....

  • Not sure how deep but I have some Cinelli Criterium track(ish) bars... I swear by them and I reckon theyre badder and a nicer fit than any bars out there!

    Holler if your interested.

ps. still got those Nitto joints?

  • gav does your mate in the shop still want the campy hub I showed him ages ago?

  • Ah Mr Aeronaught - I'm interested in your bars mate. Will text you for details later. As for the Nitto's - i sold 'em on here a few weeks ago to a geezer up in Glasgow. Sorry mate!

  • Just destroyed my old stronglight cranks and chainring in a jammed drivetrain incident, not sure how it happened but there are bits of chainring all over the road. Anyhow, I am not all over the road and in need of some preferably vintagey shimano cranks pref 39 or 42t any considered. Ben, can I have some pics of DA crank please. Do people think I'm better off buying newer and maybe stronger single cranks than using old road doubles?

  • Older road doubles would be better. I run shimano 600's for example which are excellent. You can buy bens DURA-ACE for just a few quid. To buy similar quality new in the form of a single, youd be looking at stuff like sugino 75's which would cost you a lot of dorrars.

  • Yep I'll take pics tomorrow, sorry I've just been busy.

  • cheers DFP, I have 600 on my geared bike and they seem solid n good.

  • ok here it is
