I have another 20" folding bike you can borrow. The only irritating thing about it is that is has mad rear suspension that bounces all over the place. Also, it has woods valves so tyres become deflated if not maintained.
But it has an excellent rear belt-brake, works as good (if not better) than a disc brake. Gears on it work well, 5 speed gripshift. You can borrow it, and if your mum likes it you can buy it off me.

thats really kind of you, cheers. My moms about 4ft 11. would your frame size be ok? most bikes are like tall bikes to her.
hmmm, it's too small for me but maybe too big for her. Like a 52/53? It can run 26's too and can put the upright bars back on it.

There's no way a 700c bike will ever fit someone that size as well as a 650/26" or below bike will. You can bodge things with a really short, dropped stem, but you'd be fighting the nature of the frame. Small (15" or less) old school (pre-suspension fork) mtb, or folding bike would be best IMO.

My brothers "wife" has a small MTB with 24" wheels that has been knocking round our place. She doesnt use it anymore, its in good condition. Raleigh, cantilever brakes. Its an old sturdy bike.
Ill ask her if she wants to sell it (almost definite yes). Feel free to come by to grab it.

I am likely to get bored of it or run out of space to keep my silly bikes. I am happy to bike share with Shredder and Void, potentially if you all cough up a proportionate amount.
No thanks, I was joking.
Sharing stuff is full-mental.
I'll get one, there's hundreds of 20s on eBay

You know what Void. I'm not so sure.
In the last year, I can honestly say I'd Rather have tackled hills fixed. I work better with one gear, and have ridden some long rides without even shifting gears...
I really want something bespoke, and specific to my weird anatomical measurement.
Like Void said, your call. I'm just after a bike to teach my mom, this could be on a temporary basis. Happy to be thrown out the kingpin royal rumble.
