coupla seatposts and probably a frame for sale or trade if anyone interested give us a shout,
    cheers

  • could do with an alloy 27" rim if anyone has such a thing kicking about. Or a wheelset in the same, just remembered I've a decent pair of mod E mavic rims 36H used but nice if anyone's in need of a nice vintage rim.

  • Anyone got any chain tugs going cheap please!? cheers

  • Got some of those star shaped ones, and some of those more basic old school BMX ones.

  • DFP - i reckon you should do a jumble sale of your own mate.... you'll rake in the dollars!
I think the star tugs would look a bit out of place in the Dolan, but as ever, thanks for the offer!

  • cheers hyperallah, got my eye onnit.

  • Anyone know where I can get a new pre built rear wheel with a flip hub for sub £80? looking to upgrade my current cassette converted hub for something a little more tidy.

  • Yo I'm building a new bike, what - fine ladies and gentlemen of birmingham and beyond - wares do you have that I may exchange for hard currency?
The frame I have in mind is a black surly.

    A thank you.

  • Zenith rear hub + mavic open pro + spokes = £55 from cycle basket, so pay someone £25 to build it for you?

Anyone know where I can get a new pre built rear wheel with a flip hub for sub £80? looking to upgrade my current cassette converted hub for something a little more tidy.

  • Any one got any ideas what the cheapest way of getting a fixed back wheel is, other than building your own?
I can get a hub for 30 quid, but with the price of spokes and a rim then i'd add up to a bit more. I could get a front disc hub and bolt on a hub, but cheap disc wheels are all 26".....
I'm not necessarily getting a new wheel, this is hypothetical....

  • For instance,
a brand new hybrid disc front wheel can be bought for 35 quid, plus 15 quid for a bolt on cog from velosolo, so £50 a wheel.

  • A front wheel will probably have much narrower spacing than you require (100/110mm), any disc/modern wheel is likely to be QR aswell. this would mean that you would have no space to add washers etc to space it out to your rear 120/126/135mm. You could of course bend your frame but do you really want to ride QR fixed?

Another big point is that a £35 complete hybrid disc wheel is likely to be of questionable quality.
The rear wheel of any bike is somewhere where you want to get the best quality you can afford. On a fixed however. which has much less components - you really do notice and appreaciate every little nuance of quality.

You be better off getting a 'proper' wheel or building your own.

    £25 decent fixed specific hub with lockrings + £20 rim + £15 spokes = £60

You can get me to build it for you perhaps, I have about 3 sizes of spokes.

  • ^If you know what size spokes you wany, you can get them off cyclebasket for half that price

  • £60 a wheel is good.
Ben's cycles (down the road in milwaukee!) have pairs of fixed wheels for about $70 i think.

  • anyone got 103 bb square taper?
    and some black fixed/free bubs?

Fred. What size is yours - up for a trade? mine is slightly too small for me.

    what new bike you got?

I just won one of those blue pugs off t'bay... looking forward to getting it yo!
btw - I hear they are not pugs ( you got proof? ) word is they may either be Yates or Rourke.

  • Haha i'm not sure as to the pugs but whatever they are they ride pretty good. My new bike is a Rixon track bike, nice lugged black thing, love it at the moment but i do change my mind pretty quickly haha. I'd rather not trade as I only want one bike, but thanks anyhow. It's a 56 I think but i'd have to measure it.

  • anyone wanna swop my barely used 18t miche cog for a 14t one(i assume other brands will fit my miche hub but I've not tried)? Not in brum till sunday next week.

  • Kazane chainring (only)
    1/8'' 48t 144 bcd
    £15 or best offer

  • My dolan is for sale, size 56, the one pictured but with a few changes. The wheels are now miche sealed hubs laced to mavic MA2 rims, and it currently has risers and a new stem on but I do still have those drops and stem which I can throw in for free. It's currently running a 49-15 gear ratio so i'd recommend getting a larger rear cog but otherwise it's in perfect working order. I'm looking for something around the £350 area, but sensible offers will be accepted. (Oh and all the Dolan stickers except for the one on the seat tube have been removed and there's a black and white ALIFE sticker on the downtube.)
