Might have posted this before, but does anyone have a threaded headset?
I have a 1" one its not very nice? They are cheap from Local bike shops?
-
• #1029
I'm in coventry, and I've rung the bike shops (albany, cov cycle centre) but they said they didn't have any threaded stuff about at the moment.
How not very nice is not very nice? haha, thanks for responding. -

Check your stack height before you purchase. It could save you from buying twice.

I drank so much in Seattle, didn't go to PP, got it from stalls on the street, like coffee carts...
Shit. I drank so much coffee in the States full stop. I think I was awake the whole time I was there -

• #1035
That's for polo chat and bs not coffee chat
And was necessary because you and your bird kept derailing the list of who's attending -

How not very nice is not very nice? haha, thanks for responding.Im not having much luck with that frame I got off you, I tried all of my headsets (around 3 of them) but the cups/crown race are way too loose to even shim.
I also havent been able to get hold of a fork threading tool to fix the fork. Its generally not looking very good. Spent a whole month with out a bike before finally getting round to repairing one of my old beaters.

Found this elsewhere on the forum:
Evanscycles code: thanks5
Evans have rumbled this now, no longer working.

• #1043
^ yeah, took less than 24 hrs for them to withdraw that offer. Oh well.
^^^ Don't get it do you? This thread always has got derailed and been fine, when I started the Polo Chat and BS thread it was so the list of who's attending wouldn't get fucked up with off topic bs.
Necessary in that thread, not in this one.
But yeah, make a stupid comment about everything I do, knock yourself out. -

Re-rail!
Fulcrum 7 Front wheel, used but very good condition. Cheapest I can find on the web is £60, although pairs are available for £100, sooooo - £30
Genesis Day 01 Fork, used for polo so scratched and tatty, although not *that *bad and structurally sound without dents. 700c/loads of tyre clearance/canti-mounts/mudguard mounts. Not many things like this around for reasonable money, and I'm not in a massive rush to sell, sooooo - £40

• #1045
calm down, This thread is more annoying when derailed as you cant find old posts about stuff you may now think you want.. least the Polo attendance was in bold and thus easy to spot amungst the chat.
Anyone got any OTT riser bars or bmx bars kicking about free or really cheap?
-
• #1046
What width, and what do you mean by OTT risers? You want ribbons flaring out from the bar ends? Damn me for selling my chopper...
-
• #1047
Fairly scopey on this. Problem being I smack my knees on my bars when I turn = fall = annoying! Dunno what diameter, current stem is a tioga cube with shims to git my OE bars.
I want some bars that clear my knees, so over the top risers would be good, a ramp angle a porn star would be proud of, I can get some BMX bars (GT Cro Mo ones) for £7.25, dunno if they'll fit, uber shimmage may be required or if there will be any left by time I have some cash handy.
I also want to avoid increasing the reach to the bars as i'm at my maximum with the bars I have now, the new stem has reduced the reach but also lowered it by an inch so i've lowered my seat making it pretty imporrible to pedal the silly gearing.
:)

Think i have some risers in my parts bin, ill have a rummage about in it after.

Can you move the saddle back any more? I have my long saddle all the way back on a layback seatpost, and I'd still prefer it further back. Rearwards weight distribution is the way forwards, unintuitively, although there are plenty of other people playing really well with the exact opposite set-up. My saddle is really long with a really padded nose so I move up and down on it with ease and aplomb.

@Si - it has risers on it, they rise alot more than my MTB ones, hence the request for OTT risers..
could I borrow the ones off your bmx? see if I like the idea or hate it?
@Danski - Saddle is as far forward to reduce reach, had considered turning seat post 180degrees, but then i'd be so far forward on the cranks it'd be fatal for my(already fudged) hips to pedal.
I like my new saddle, it's a huge improvement on the SE origional, Si now owns (pikey).
I was about to go out and test the brakes and it's just slashed down! Grr
Might have posted this before, but does anyone have a threaded headset?
