So I saw 4 people playing at Hurlingham abou 20mins ago and I have been viewing this thread for a while. I just have a baic question really, I'm 17 and I'm just putting finishing touches to my first self made fixed gear bike, it should be done oer easter hols. I realise I can't play polo on this because the gear ratios are too high, but is there a way that I can change the crankset and have a seperate polo chain so I could pop along and play with you? I live on Daisy Lane, a 3 min walk away from Hunlingham Park and the thunderdome was the place I first learnt to cycle, before it was a playground and when it was a grasy park with a hill.
Thanks~

Hi jasper, a lot of people have rear wheels with two sides and ride one to the court and one for polo, but i guess swapping cranks is just as plausible as swapping out wheels!
I used to run a double chain ring on front which when combined with a flip/flop rear can give you a massive variation in gearings, but the unused large cog can act as a chainsaw when your playing!
Just come along and chat, it's easier to talk about in real life than on a forum...

How wonderful, Louis! Congratulations!

Anyone sitting around and wants a knockabout this afternoon?
-
• #4169
jasper - come and say hi next time we get our collective arses in gear.
As Daddy says it's easier to swap the wheel around.
Removing and re-fitting cranks regularly is not very good for them. -
