  • BTW its pissing it down all day thursday

  • accuweather.co.uk predicts dry patch from 12:00 till 17:00 hrs.

    I call 12:20 at Thunderdome for 2-ups?

If we become 5+ then off to Hurlingham...

Glad to see you posting Pip! I was gonna text you anyway - slacker.

  • 12:20 at the thunderdome it is.

    I miss that place.

  • Awesome to see welo starting up again, sorry for suggesting slackness and then not making it, jo and baby are staying in the hospital till Friday (tax dodge) so I won't be slacking till next week...

(I've also got parents evening tomorrow!!!!)

  • Oh in case it's not obvious, as of yesterday lunch time, about 1.56pm, My selfish genes sucessfully survived another generation. The new vessel for them is called Logan and he was 8lbs 10 ozs, in case any ofyou are interested...

  • nice one Louis, congratulations

  • great news fella - remember that nappies are for baby, not just for your knees

  • Cheers, I will pass the good wishes on to my girlfriend, who was the one doing all the hard work...

  • ....and apparently he was born without a beard....i am sceptical.

I think Lou has been secretly shaving his hairy baby....

Yay Louis nice one! I'm sure you'll make a great dad too...

So...how long til he gets his first mallet?

  • Congratulations Louis - awesome.

  • don't even know where the thunder thing is? I'm hoping its not deep west..

  • So I saw 4 people playing at Hurlingham abou 20mins ago and I have been viewing this thread for a while. I just have a baic question really, I'm 17 and I'm just putting finishing touches to my first self made fixed gear bike, it should be done oer easter hols. I realise I can't play polo on this because the gear ratios are too high, but is there a way that I can change the crankset and have a seperate polo chain so I could pop along and play with you? I live on Daisy Lane, a 3 min walk away from Hunlingham Park and the thunderdome was the place I first learnt to cycle, before it was a playground and when it was a grasy park with a hill.
    Thanks~
    jasper.

  • Hi jasper, a lot of people have rear wheels with two sides and ride one to the court and one for polo, but i guess swapping cranks is just as plausible as swapping out wheels!

I used to run a double chain ring on front which when combined with a flip/flop rear can give you a massive variation in gearings, but the unused large cog can act as a chainsaw when your playing!

Just come along and chat, it's easier to talk about in real life than on a forum...

  • How wonderful, Louis! Congratulations!

  • Anyone sitting around and wants a knockabout this afternoon?

  • jasper - come and say hi next time we get our collective arses in gear.
As Daddy says it's easier to swap the wheel around.
Removing and re-fitting cranks regularly is not very good for them.

  • Anyone up for some slackers tomorrow?

  • I could get out of college at lunchtime if we have numbers - available by 2pm or so.

  • I'm up for it. Need to be done by about 5pm though.

  • That's cool, can we get 1 more?

BBC says rain but we can hope

  • ah man - if it's raining I'm better off welding!

Lets see who else pops their head up. I'll text Pip.

  • If it's wet I'll play if it's raining I'm out, we can review the situation tomorrow.
