  • Well done that man!

  • Team of the Year, Coach of the Year and Personality of the Year, A clean sweep!

    Sounds like the olympics.

  • glag he won it, thought he wouldn't given number of other cyclists up for the award.

feel a little sorry for cav though

  • LOL @ Adlington pulling the confetti stuff out of her cleavage.

    er...I mean, well done Hoy.

  • that's great! I thought cycling would be over looked.

  • Well chuffed for Hoy and BC, was sure Hamilton was going to get the main gong

  • feel a little sorry for cav though

yeah, to totally leave out the bloke who got 4 stage wins in one tour (especially since he left early) is well out of order, not even a mention, even though he was on the montage breifly, I hope he blitzes in 09 and gets some payback.

Chris deserved that award more than anyone, congrats Chris if you're reading this! (I'm sure he is)

  • I was convinced Lewis Hamilton would win so I'm delighted to hear that Chris Hoy got it. 2 World Championships and 3 Olympic titles in one year is an amazing achievement and I'm glad the British public recognised this. He comes across as a very humble person too.

Now let's get some more indoor velodromes built! (Two in London please).

  • 30p well spent, I wonder if I can claim it on expenses?

  • My money was on Lewis Hamilton but a good year for us plucky Brits nonetheless.

  • Definitely well deserved!

I thought you'd be there in the audience! all done up in a DJ and on the complimentary champers

  • yeah, well done to Chris and all the team.we watched them all at the velodrome in manchester last saturday. All amazing and very down to to earth.

  • Superb - Again, another 30p well spent! Congratulations Chris Hoy a worthy winner after the utter shite you sometimes see winning...

  • i wanted hoy to get it but had my money on hamilton. i reckon most of the public would have voted for hamilton.

hamilton is a great driver but he has yet to proove himself as far as im concerned. when hes won a few more championships he can have it.

hoy has done more for his sport and country, and is part of the machine that produced such great medal results at the olympics. i think its amazing how well we did, and its probably the best we can ever hope to get, as were really unlikely to beat the giants like china, the US ect. as long as we beat australia and germany weve done ourselfs proud. i hate the idea of patrism, but i cant help but have affection for the country i grew up in.

  • I thought Lewis would get it- glad Chris Hoy won. Doubly so as he has the same surname :D

  • Now let's get some more indoor velodromes built! (Two in London please).

One East and one West so we can have Hipsters vs Roadies?

Glad Hoy won. Shame he didn't get to bet Hamilton twice in one day....

  • Well done the real McCoy.

    Hamilton looks cheesed off...

  • yeah, i bet Hamilton thought he had it, i certainly did. really surprised a Cyclist got it..

  • Hoy has behaved like a true sportsman and a true champion and is an inspiration to people everywhere. Hamilton, much as I love him winning the F1 championship, has acted on occasion in an ungentlemanly and unsporting fashion. He comes across as a spoilt brat who has had it handed to him on a plate and he's still not grateful.

Well done Chris Hoy and all his team mates. Cav's stage wins were definitely mentioned at some point. (and I am still secretly in love with Victoria Pendleton)

  • Chris Hoy = 531... Well done that man! :D

  • Well done the Great British Public and Mr Hoy, but also the rest of the team, especially Nicole Cooke (she must win next year--no idea how, but hey, where there's a bike there's a way!).

Now let's hope for the Formula 1 effect--that the prestige of elite sport rubs off on cycling as a desirable everyday activity with a high status, and of course grassroots amateur sport.

    He, he.

  • 2 wheels good 4 bad...am sure formula 1 is fcuked with the impending doom of the planet...

  • Well done the boy Hoy.
