Nice colour - do you have the kid-proof leather interior?

Nice work!

Definitely do get a variety of opinions. I think we had bad luck with the airbag ECU dying but otherwise the other maintenance seems standard. And look for high spec if you can. The adaptive cruise control and steering headlights are great plus the B&O stereo is pretty great for a car system.

Half leather with alcantara inserts. Yeah, the back seat has a cover over it!

I have a few to look at locally. I just need to make the big decision that it's time for a change - hard to get my mind around the reasoning that what I want is out of my price range. Also, the worry of getting a new car and it getting damaged. I had two close calls yesterday - neither my fault and both at slowish speeds but I wasn't overly worried about damage to my current A6. Different story with a new car. First World Problem?

Looking at this, any tips or issues to be aware of?
-
• #78758
Yes, post a better link.
Ha touché. Anyway I drove a superb for about 6 months once and hated in no order.
Adaptive cruise control
Gearbox
The size of the thing
The blind spots
The sound system
The shitty low seating position
The braking for you at times it’s not neededI really did not vibe with that fucking thing

Sorry, ninja edit!

Never seen this one before. Looked brand new apart from the massive oil leak

for balance, i've had a 2017 2.0 TSi (220PS) since new and generally think it's great.
yes it's big - that's the whole point of it
haven't noticed the blind spots being worse than eg the mondeo or passat which i've had
DSG is great - would not go back to manual
Adaptive cruise control is great - wouldn't have a car without it now
Seat is fully adjustable and better than mondeo / passat imo
Sound system is no worse than others i've had; it's what you would expect from a OEM system in a mid range cari guess it depends what you are coming from - i've had Peugeot 406, Subaru, Mondeo, Passat in the last 20 years. Obviously it doesn't handle as well as an Outback but it's quick, drives well, comfortable, great for long journeys with lots of people / luggage.

Cambelt service complete and it's all back together. Done 60 miles since and all seems well. My hands are in pieces after this.
I think I'm going to sell and a) Pick up an MGB GT and make it a period racer looking thing b) Swap for a Titanium Silver 182 c) something else
I just can't get on board with the blue.

Thanks for that, I'll take both views and test drive it. Nothing will match the rough road handling of the outback and the weight distribution but Subaru just haven't developed their engines enough, a new outback would have basically the same engine as 20 years ago.

i really like the blue on this dude. but get you are just not feeling the love.

I went from a selection of Subarus (inc an H6 Outback) to a Passat Alltrack - loved the DSG and the quality of the interior, 170bhp TDi was great and still had the extra ride height and rough road ability and great boot space, towed my rally car like it wasn't there.
We wouldn't have changed it if it hadn't have been written off - Will probably buy another one at some point

+1 for the blue, it bangs. But if you're not clicking with it, then that's that.

We had a BR Legacy, loved it but couldn’t justify getting a later gen Outback given price, features and fuel economy.
In the end we ignored all of that and prioritised colour

Let's not forget the restored mgb that brm bought and how bad that was.

MGB GT
I had one for a while. Very comfortable, smooth, but ultimately quite dull to drive in comparison to the tuned MK4 Spitfire it replaced. Your Renault must be light years ahead in performance.
Don't love the blue either but think it has potential to be a more fun/original project.

What year of A4 Avant are you looking at I have a 16 plate 2L quattro I'm thinking of selling. It's on 83,000
In my 10,000 miles it's had
Ad blue tank replaced
AC pressure sensor
Brake pressure sensor
All front end bushingsI average 43 mpg locally but I'm always in sport/dynamic.
It's plenty quick, especially from a stand still.
Ride is harsh but it's on 19" wheels and has s line suspension.

Could not sleep so did some online car hunting, saw a supercharged mini, with the non supercharged bonnet in E1.
Needs a clean inside and probably the 100k service in supercharger oil change...but 600.

The ones I've looked at on line are 2016 and 2017 - they are in a dealer local to me.
How harsh is the ride? I'm at an age where harsh isn't good. Daughter has an S-Line A1 and it does my head in with the bumps. -

Went to my first drag race today, it was fucking amazing. Sadly, this is the only photo I took, which is a bit shit. The nitro cars were running at 430kph, they sounded like a bomb had gone off at launch, totally physical experience, the sound, the shock waves smacking ya in the chest, the smell of grease paint, etc. 🤡
Defo going back.

went to Santa Pod years ago and yeah, the cars getting off the line was mental.
exactly like you say - felt like a bomb going off. first few times i was genuinely scared!
Thanks for that. Your car looks well and I like that colour. I will speak to my mechanic about services for the AWD - I hadn't considered that b
