I was squashed in the back of a ford capri with fabric seats and a sunroof, then various Volvos all with fabric seats ..

I feel your pain. I was in the back of one of these getting a lift to school in the late 70s (no seat belts) when it got t boned at a junction and i went flying. My dad shouted at me for crying. Those were the days!

So glad our 2006 XC70 2.5T is a month within the safe side of the whopper tax threshold…

Finally got around to advertising my R53 and do really need to shift it as I now have it's replacement and I don't really have anywhere to store it. I reckon it's got to be about as much fun as you can get for around £2k (it's up for 2.5 but I'm realistic, prices are low, forum discount etc). Good spec standard car and with some nice upgrades/mods - Milltek exhaust, Scorpion stainless manifold/sports cat, new Michelin PS5's all round, intake/K&N, Ultragauge, BlackVue dashcam etc. Just got a new MOT.

Yeah it’s really fun, and I think I’ll probably regret selling it tbh esp at the prices they are fetching at the mo. I really wanted my brother to hang onto it for a while but he blew me out, all he had to pay was insurance and petrol! I had to act quickly though while I had the chance to get a 996. Picked it up last week and I’m loving it, the 3.4 with a sports exhaust is quite a noise.

How much ?

• #78540
A fair chunk less than the starting price of the lovely Pug - my mate had a 309 1.9 GTI bitd and at the time I had a Golk Mk2 1.8 16v 3 door ‘92 big bumper loved it.

My camper doesn't have aircon (very much an oversight) - just about survived 35C in the Alsace last year. Wet flannel over the back of the neck does wonders!

Not bad for your grail! What's the mileage?

Had a few 205, all of them ropey and cheap. The GTi were expensive insurance as they were nicked a lot.
I liked to 1.4xs and the diesels...as cheap insurance and better on fuel...

I feel this belongs here as much as the meme thread, especially in light of recent forumite purchases

Yes price of entry is reasonable but 🤞 for the bills that can follow (hopefully a lot of the big stuff has been covered already, it’s had £15k spent on it the last few years 😅). It’s a 2001 C4 on 97k

Anyone with a Mk6 golf want to upgrade head unit and reversing camera? I've got the below, £150 worth of kit from Aliexpress, would take £40 or wine/beer at this point.

C4 has just informed me refuelling an EV is similar cost per mile to petrol. I'd assumed that charging is dirt cheap.
Never as good as air con.
Driving up through Italy in the summer, I drove at night as it was nicer and cloth seats were nicer than didn't get as hot as vinyl.
The type r 850 cooling system got hot enough to turn the rad fans on as soon as the ignition keys was turned on. Caused the ECU to throw many faults.
