Minor details.
The fleeting moments you have it will be heavenly motoring. And because it’ll be so fleeting your environmental damage will be low enough for most people’s conscience.

I'm taking this to mean there was 60% of the disc left from a new disc till the minimum wear limit.
The theory is yes, the reality is who knows with out looking at the discs. Have used a on car disc lathe before to fix scored or slightly warped discs on a 928, as the disc were so expensive to replace this was a viable option. But that cost can be more than replacing the discs on other cars.
What was the fault with the brakes?

Can you get the Japanese original oil filters, they are supposed to be of a higher quality than the us made oil filters.

Still undecided about going from London to Taunton to buy a car. As it will be a long bus/train journey and no idea how good the car is.
It is an A2 so is old already but the double sumroof version.

In which case the answer is a Land Cruiser instead :)

Why is no one saying a classic one series or two series ovlov estate?
Classic car, probably make money on it and it will be an adventure in basic fun with no need to worry about emissions stuff.

Timpsons in Reading told me it would be £180 for a 2003 plate vw. I’m not recommending them, I thought that was ££££, but it is a comparator.

1) love A2s
2) do it
3) the sun roof has a plastic cog mechanism that snaps, and when it does, it’s not really viable to repair apparently. I had a nice pano roof that didn’t open though.
4) do it
5) there’s a huge storage space under the carpet under the driver’s footwell I didn’t know about for years
6) do it!! -

According to my mate, shuddering when breaking at speeds over 50mph. No issues at slower speeds.

Odd, as a cheap skate I'd have cleaned the discs with a wire brush attachment on a drill or angle grinder, then chamfered the leading edge of the pads. Then bed the pads in again.

Mate isn't mechanically minded so it cost him. Not overly dear at £330 ish including new pad sensors.
But the 40% think irks. -

It is a red one too.

If you are that way inclined, there is no other option.
But yeah why tell him?

I managed one crappy photo, it's been pissing down most of the day. Been cruising around in it a lot today, love it. 🥰

In the grey corner a T6.1 Kombi: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/156169054336?i
In the white corner an E400d estate: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202403207785505
The E Class has half the mileage, but also half the space.

E Class looks like a nicer place to be for a long drive?

I believe that measurement was from an Octavia.
Yeah, my point was that the Superb is the biggest of them all. Octavia is never going to fit a lot width ways, as it's the width of a Golf.
T6.1 - it has 100k miles on it and they want £30k for it? How does that work?

Interesting crack propagation! Does your insurance cover windscreen damage? Usually it's £100 charge or something like that.
You can’t insure them because they are so easy to steal.
