I guess for a certain percentage of 'not at fault' incidents, it was still avoidable if the not at fault party had been a 'safer'/more cautious/better driver? Therefore it's indicative of being at greater risk of causing a incident in the future...
Absolutely. Insurance companies do consider being part of a no-fault accident to be a risk factor and it will affect your premiums for future years.

Lovely that, the best colour for one of them I've seen.

I mean, who would want to insure an unlucky person? Seems risky to me.

Know someone that hit a deer, not much you can do and had to claim for bodywork repairs, premiums have shot up.

Amazing that is not a write off. I've seen many deer + car collisions where the car is totalled. I've met ex-US Park Rangers who have seen moose collisions that write off large SUVs.

I was in the car, we both noticed it coming out of nowhere and just said oh shit this is it. Luckily it hit the side panel. Took 6 weeks for Tesla to fix it but not too bad all things considered.

Pretty good MOT history on that too - nice!

Worst feeling ever.

Friend of mine wrote off his 850R when it met Bambi leaping out of a hedge, he said the collision wrecked an impressive amount of the car.

Is it bad form to inflate tires up to pressure when it's this cold out?
My rudimentary understanding of physics makes me think that when the weather warms up they will explode. Possibly with fire.

I once was told an anecdote by someone who rode a GXSR through a deer, panic grabbed a handful of front brake but all the blood stopped it throwing them off
Unsure if true but a wild image

My screen wash is freezing.
Any recommendations for decent non-boutiquie screenwash?
I assume I just need a neater mix.

I think my last bottle was some generic pre-mixed swill out of a Tesco garage rated to -5, was pleasantly surprised this morning when it still worked.

Cheers.
Halfords sounds like a good shout. Pretty sure it's the tesco one thst failed. That said idk how much was left in the car.

Good to -20. I got some from Asda yesterday. £6.

Is it bad form to inflate tires up to pressure when it's this cold out?
Yes, you're meant to fill them up at room temp.

anyone in market for a seasucker rack? can take 3 bikes, have 3 rear wheel holding suction cups too, can take QR, 12x100, 15x100 and 15x110.

Yes, you're meant to fill them up at room temp.
Getting the car up into our 1st floor flat is a bit tricky to make sure it's at room temperature.
Or, just apply a bit of SCIENCE.
https://www.continental-tires.com/car/tire-knowledge/winter-world/tire-pressure-in-winter
According to that: 10 degrees C is worth 1-2 PSI (0.07 to 0.14 bar).
So if it's ~5 deg C outside then just inflate them to ~3 PSI lower than recommended.

Would that it were that simple.
Static cold temperature is really irrelevant because as you drive the tyres heat up and the pressure increases, so what you actually need to do is drive for 30 minutes as you would expect to drive for the rest of the journey then set the hot pressures.
This doesn’t work, though, if the first 30 minutes are pottering through town and the next bit is attacking B roads or speedy motorway work as the temperature difference and therefore pressure difference will be huge. So really you need to do a practice journey, check and set the pressures as you go, write them down, work out the mean and set them to that.

Amateur - you need dynamic tyre pressures which monitor the temperature across the face of the tyre and inflate or deflate the tyre according to the conditions.

Why do I have to type this to make it capitals?SCIENCE!
This is awesome and has daily driver vibes too. Just like this 96 I saw the other day.
