  • They spend a chunk of it on printing and posting the tax discs we’re still obliged to display on our windscreen, despite having the technology to scan reg plates.

  • Is anyone heading to Buntingford Classic car show tomorrow?

I think I'll ride there from Hackney, leaving at around 10 if anyone is keen to join.

  • nope but I'll be at Shere hill climb in my mate's TVR on Sunday :-)

  • Yes can't wait to price people off the roads without a decent mass transit infrastructure to replace it

  • what do you suggest?

  • taxes on cars pay for roads now???

  • Put the public transport infrastructure in first.

  • Personally I'm praying for a miracle in the form of clean synthetic fuels.

  • In rural Scotland?

  • Clio Williams are dead cool. I was sat with a mate by the Copsem Rd roundabout under the A3 years ago (probably '96 - we were pissing around baiting superbikes on whatever old shite we were riding at the time.) One of these came around at absolute WARP speed using every inch of road - so fast it actually made us jump. At the wheel was none other than Jacques Villeneuve.

  • Another Renault , so many are in great Nick , but don’t look restored
    But only 4
I’ll be intrigued to see the EV 5 and 4 in a couple of years , from what I’ve seen I’d be all over one

  • I do like a 4.

Still would like a 8 gordini.

  • Was amusing little thing to wizz around in for half an hour.

  • I had one for 14 years, could probably still draw a parts fiche :) People are very friendly when you rock up in one of those.

I bought a set of gordini wheels for £20 and fitted them.

  • How old are you ;) had a few 4l, liked till I bought one that needed a clutch change...made the same mistake on a r5 no wonder both were so cheap.

  • This would sell well methinks

  • Looks like a mini rolls Royce.

  • Random hole in the indicator glass. Any recommendations on a replacement (e46 touring 54 plate)? I assume a bit of tape will be sufficient to pass mot (Wednesday).

  • How very dare you :)

I did change the clutch on one, had the help of an expert family friend and the use of his professional garage though! I actually had 2 but they kind of merged into one.

  • I had me, on a drive and maybe an autodata book.....and the belief of youth that it can't be that hard.

My support was my dad telling me to sort my shit out and fix it.

  • That same friend gave me the workshop manual which is where I discovered the existence of a Plein Air version. I've seen one once in the flesh in many years of visiting the South of France. The Mehari is common by comparison. I did a great road trip in a Mehari one time but the engine is a bit puny even if you're not in a hurry.

Of course the real problem with the Plein Air is they took away the only parts of a Renault 4 that don't rust.

Turns out they've done an electric concept of the Plein Air.

  • is there a go to cheap iphone/android carplay double din unit?

My previous boss' family have a holiday home in Mallorca. They have two Mehari's that are there for anyone who needs to use them when they're visiting the house. Not entirely sure how they've managed to sort multi-use insurance, but everyone who visits their gaff seems to drive these things around the island

  • Rarer than the wicker nuova 500 ;) only seen one in Monaco. Got more attention than any of the other super cars.

These special cars always make me smile, like a mini moke...as a baldy hope they occupants wear sunscreen.
