The C Max has a cool feature on the back seats when the centre seat folds away, and the two side seats slide back and towards the middle to make it a very roomy 4 seater. Wondering if that will help, but then her seat will actually be further from the door. Easier to chuck her at the seat though instead of the no look arrangement as @6pt mentions. Would have to clear all the shit off the middle seat though, which involves dragging the Henry outside, which sounds like a ball ache right now.

If trackers are so good, remember a few years ago that someone hired a lamborghini in Zurich, drove it to London and the tracker stopped working in Tottenham Ikea car park. The car was found by co-incidence by a 'private investigator' looking for another car.

But then tesla have been hacked.
That's a very broad statement. As far as I'm aware, no Tesla has every been hacked to allow driving functionality.
Two hacks (both patched now) allowed access to the car:
- Key fob vulnerability in Model X - required an ECU from another Tesla Model X, physical access to the car and a key fob. Never worked with any other Tesla model and was patched before the security researcher released the hack to the public.
- Zero click exploit which allowed control of the infotainment (including unlocking of car but not driving). Patched in October last year
Both of these would have been useless if PIN to drive was enabled anyway and both are patched.
- Key fob vulnerability in Model X - required an ECU from another Tesla Model X, physical access to the car and a key fob. Never worked with any other Tesla model and was patched before the security researcher released the hack to the public.

My take on it is that the cars have been hacked. The 'hackers' found the loophole/back door way in and then told tesla.
From memory the ecu key hack never needed to have the key, just be within range of the key for a few minutes. Then there would gain access to the car. Then the hacker had access to the car. While wasn't the Zero click thing was made at a hacking competition and the hacking wasn't that much of an attack, and that this could be done from quite far away something like 400m-500m?

Infamous Alfa 155 from the glory days of BTCC is up for sale.
Back in the mid 90s, cars looked almost stock and spoilers were largely banned.
Alfa "secretly" sold 2500 models to meet homologation regulations, which came with front splitter and large rear spoiler (tossed in the back, wasn't actually fitted!) and gave a massive, yet legal, advantage over the rest of the field -

Woah, that is a bit special.

We had our car stolen off the drive two years ago. I looked into immobilisers etc then. In the end I decided against as if someone is willing to break in to steal the key (which is what happened) why would they not go further when it wouldn’t start and wake me / my wife up with a screwdriver or similar pointer at us asking if we wouldn’t be so kind as to come downstairs and start the car up...

Re keyfob repeater attacks, I have bought a Faraday box for the main key (it works, tested by walking to the car with it in the box, rhjw opening the box).
The spare key is wrapped in tinfoil. This also works.
I think the repeater devices have a scary long range.

^^It's a very cool car I think, comparatively speaking it's at absolute zero compared to something like a G63.

Key chat - my car will unlock when it registers me standing by the door with the key in my pocket, then I press a button to start it. The range is pretty short - I can do some testing on this, but if it's got any doubts it says "key out of range" and won't do anything.
It also locks itself (even if I'm washing it with the key in my pocket) after a few minutes have gone by. IDK if they're popular with thieves - I suspect the power is attractive but the old man image is a strong deterrent.

Sounds familiar (also the head smashing).
Keyless makes one less thing to try and juggle when wrestling with said child.

When I got my s213 from Brooklands they specifically said to double press the lock button, which disables the keyless entry

I'm quite friendly with the bloke who infamously caused Tarquini to put one of those 155's into a big barrell roll.

Exactly the same as my Kia.
This makes it vulnerable to a repeater attack.
Despite needing to be close to the car for it to open when operating normally, the repeaters do not need to be anywhere near as close to your key, for the attack to be succesful.
Repeater devices with ranges of up to 300m are advertised for sale.
This is the Faraday key case I bought.
I think that keyless entry cars should come with a shielding container for the keys.

You will never be in a high speed chase, learn how to set points and keep them lubbed and watch heel wear...or get a dwell meter/ dwellometer. Oh and have a multi meter in the car, to check for electrical issues.
Keep a decent quality brand dizzy cap, distributer arm, couple sets of points, and a few condensors. Keep two points and condensors in the landie and somewhere where they won't rattle around as that just makes a really annoying noise. This will keep the the magic smoke inside stuff.
Learn where all the grease nipples are and get a decent grease gun with a long clip on flexi for all the correct greases.
Oh and I would recommend fitting a removable key isolator switch in a hidden place either like this battery isolator switch removable standard key or Durite keyed battery isolator Also fit a unconnected switch on the dashboard to fool thieves.
Have had cars with immobilisers like that.
But then tesla have been hacked.
