  • So the best thing we can find to say about it is that its bland?

  • I'm with the rest. Not a good looking car as far as the photo's show.

On the subject of aesthetics the RRC has gone in (finally) for the respray/mopping. She should be done on Monday, so will post piccys as soon as I have her back. Then I just have to do something about the leacking roof! ;)

  • One of the only concept car I wanted to put a deposit on at the show where it was being shown..

  • It looks so much better in real life, the styling cues are so like the original fulvia, the three box design, but slightly bigger.

There was also talk of a return to the right hand drive market.....

i doubt they'll return to here mate,
sales are still declining in europe as far as i'm aware.

  • in other news the volvo's fixed:
fixed the vvt pulley and the cambelt tensioner, which seemed to solve the noise. also had to reset the cam timing as it had jumped out by a couple of teeth again. think it was the vvt that managed to save the valves from piston attack but not entirely sure.

It was around 2003 that the concept came out. And talk in 2006 of the return.

Any company that makes a 1050 turbo in a car with the most interesting omega rear suspension.

  • i love the delta - it used to be on them sega rally arcade games and i've idolised it ever since. same goes for the fulvia.

did you say you have a fulvia?

Possibly styling which cannot translate into a modern car?

  • i doubt that front end would get past pedestrian regulations.

  • was more about the angled / 60's bodywork.

  • ha! sorry, misinterpretation

You can never have one.....the rest are spares ;) I have a few cars that I will never sell, the fulvias and the caterham are them.

The rest are just passing amusements. The sad thing is that I get a hell of alot of satisfaction and probably self esteem from repairing cars.

    Euro spec,

This is the gb spec front

  • looks like some kind of imaginary astra coupé/daewoo love child

I didn't now what you were on about but after checking a few cars I see what you mean. The Fulvia does predate them both by a few years.

  • Have been given a sales brochure for the Lancia Thema 8.32 Ferrari. Its like a hard baack book more than a brochure. Very of the time.

Can bring it to beers to show people.

  • Want.

  • Well, yesterday a £4 seal cost me 7 litres of fully synthetic oil, and a trip to Leicestershire on an AA lorry.

Luckily the car blew the line off the oil cooler, and I turned it off straight away so no harm done.

Time to update it slightly- a fellow Volvo owner wants to return his car to stock, so has suggested swapping his newer parts onto my car (for a fee of course) and my standard parts onto his, before he sells his.

Key parts here are the turbine/downpipe/exhaust. Turbine has a larger compressor wheel, downpipe has a 100 Cell race cat and goes to 3" all the way, and the exhaust goes to a pair of straight through silencers that are very free-flowing.

Combined with the headwork it should be interesting to see the results.

He has suggested that we swap rad/rad/'cooler packs also, but that's up in the air.

Shems car made 340 on the dyno with this setup minus the headwork that mine has.

  • This is Jon Olsson's (whos a pro skier) Rebellion RK1, based on an Ultima - hes a car nut and had it built for the Gumball rally, but alas couldnt get it ready in time

  • Right.

RRC had her skittle re-sprayed and a full body rubdown (mop). A lot little other work as well.

The effing bonnet decals are a replacement set. I couldn't get the rear as they simply don't exist and it is also impossible to fabricate them so the rears were sprayed to match closer to the front.

The bonnet decals fell off straight away, seems 20 years in a box can have an affect on the ability of glue to do it's job. So much painstaking time spent with rulers, masking tape, the internet and I managed to get them on with contact adhesive just right.

    Anyway, photos.

i'm sure it's fast, but that thing's fucking ugly. video's pretty bad as well, why does he continually blip the throttle?

  • Because theres a bomb under the seat.

    A bit like Speed 2.

The rev counter must not stand still.

    Otherwise.

    Pffffffffff.

    Sssssssss.

  • An artist friend was asked to decorate/enliven a new Bentley for this year's Gumball 3000 rally. This is what he did.

  • I know Volvos and Porsches are never far from this thread, but after a lifetime of disliking Porsches I feel like I've just got them. More specifically older ones, like the 944 Turbo.
When looking into these 944's it's obvious they have a race pedigree, which seems in contrast to my previous conclusions about the owners.
