The chassis I have seen are patches on patches, JLR are starting to get silly trying to protect the brand of JLR classic. Wouldn't be surprised to see the continuation series 1.
Feels odd to see the price jump so much.

Have we had JLR stopping production of any future models (it was meant to build future models in their electric car range) at Castle Bromwich due to the sunlit uplands being just too damn sunny?

what a shame!

Limited run A1 Quattro is the only alternative in that size until the Yaris becomes readily available second hand. But Audi's aren't lairy, other then in a straight line. Audi's bias is always towards handling stability.
Fiesta ST and forgo the AWD. If you need more speed the Mountune.

This has made me wonder if the thermostat is broken on my Polo. Gets up to temp fine in summer but barely gets above min during winter. Seems to be worse on the motorway as well. What was the sympton of yours before you fixed it?
-
• #62482
That basically, not getting to temp, especially in the winter.
If the thermostat is stuck open, the coolant is always flowing through the radiator and being cooled. If the air temp is low and you’re driving quickly the radiator will be getting really cold, and thus the engine will be getting overcooled (hence your low temps on the motorway - extra airflow = extra cooling). You may have also noticed that the engine temp would climb when stationary but drop when driving (which seems the opposite of what you’d expect).
Your car should always get to temperature as it’s designed to, and the engine won’t like running cold.

Love it! My new rims arrive next week, I'm VERY, VERY tempted to go up a size on the tyres... Won't look anything like that, but still... 👀

Bigger the wheels the longer the (effective) gear ratio and the more torque you’re going to need to accelerate the car, not really an issue on a big turbo derv 4x4 but I’d be somewhat cautious about over-tyring a car with a shopping motor.

What car are we talking about here?
Do you have a wagon?! -
• #62487
Thanks - I didn't think there was anything I was missing. The Yaris will be sometime away before it's available I should imagine.
Perhaps lairy was the wrong word - I quite fancy something AWD, maybe even just for the sake of it.

JLR stands for 'Just Land Rover'. They have consistently mismanaged Jaguar into the ground.
-
• #62489
You really should, we're only talking millimetres not adding 33 inches of mud tyre. Barely noticeable and you'll get a better choice of tyre

Speaking of tyres, just dropped $1600 Aus on a set Michelin PS4 s today. I'm expecting massive handling gains while shuffling the kids to daycare at 40kph....

Yep exactly this. Looks like its time to get on ebay and dig out the Haynes

I imagine Jaguars will be built in Slovenia once the models currently built in Bromwich reach EOL.

Lifted off the web:
“Checking thermostat operation:
On some vehicle models, it’s easy to diagnose a thermostat.
Make sure the engine is cool.
Engage the parking brake.
Set the transmission to Park (automatic) or Neutral (manual).
Start and idle the engine.
Pop the hood open.
Remove the radiator cap.
Take a look though the radiator opening.Coolant should not flow at this point until the engine begins to reach operating temperature, usually in about 15 to 20 minutes.
If coolant is flowing with the engine cool, the thermostat is stuck open and needs to be replaced.” -

A small victory for today.
Finally got round to returning the cat I ordered that doesn't fit the Jazz. Seller initially denied the return request (over 30 days since sale), but I rang the part manufacturer and they confirmed there's been compatibility issues and they were happy to accept the part back, and have advised the correct part.
It seems that Jazz models aren't as easily identified as other cars, so despite Honda giving production dates for compatibility purposes of parts, there's still a grey area for when what part might've actually been fitted, and thus what is a suitable replacement.
Very csb, but a relief to have the manufacturer telling you that you're not being a div and that others have had the same problem.
Now I just need to get back to the nightmare of drilling out the bolts that snapped off during the theft...

Is that a lifted 4x4?

Yup, just seen some YT vids of some more rowdy/capable ones as well

Wonder how they did the lift, those had a better 4x4 system the the CR-v and hp-v imo.
Just top it up.
