To commemorate the End of Times,
(the formation of Stellantis from the merger of Fiat-Chrysler with Peugeot),
Ruislip High Street, this lunchtime, was dwarfed by a Fiat Fullback.
I didn't take a photo of the rebadged Mitsubishi L200. -

Fiat-chrysler and PSA have had a few shared models but then you have the Reanualt, nissan, mitsubishi alliance too.

Need new bushes and boots for the Suby, I don't like the factory wheels so thinking about changing things up... Eight spoke, roundhole steelies or rattlecan what I've got? I want eight spokes, not sure I'll be able to find the right rim for the tyres I'm currently using...

Nice, they look spendier than the options I was looking at, managed to find Dynamic Sunraysias for only AU$52 per corner...
I've thrown my tyre size into a few websites and all I get back are hideous, spidery alloys... No bueno...

Surely you should buy tyres to fit wheels, not wheels to fit tyres!?
-
• #61789
You'll have to drop down a wheel size. Plus you really need to know offset and rim width.
If you went to a 16" in the roundhole steelies you could get tyre like 225/65/16... That would give you a slightly larger diameter and your Speedo would be marginally out.

Otherwise just rattle can what you have
I have seen those xv's with old Forester steelies on, that'd be cheap option

I'm in.
EDIT: I like the A2, what can I say. I'm special.

I'm here for this.
Try a tyre size calculator. It'll a give you other tyres that will fit the wheels you want but will also maintain the circumference of the stock setup!

Thanks for the suggestions! My local Bridgestone place can do me the rim I want (17x7 5100) with the same size Bridgestone EP300 (225/55R17)... Easy peasy... Wheels aren't ~$50 tho'! Just a simple case of do I pull the trigger or not now... $400 isn't a lot of money for a new set of more aggressive rims...
Here's an Outback with Sunnies on it...

Surprised at how many different versions there were of the Ford Galaxie in the 60's, this is a 1966 version, the 4th different variation of Galaxie's I've seen made in that decade. Love the chiselled lines on the rear of this, and as with all Galaxie's I've seen the rear lights are very cool. The wheels look tiny on this barge.
And I've never seen one of these before, a 1962 AMC Rambler Cross Country. Despite looking like this wagon/estate version was created by driving an estate at speed into the back of a saloon, I think its a cool looking thing for carrying a fuck-ton of stuff. And with recent wheel chat these are nice wheels, though I guess they are not the stock ones.

AR Torq Thrust's, great looking wheel.

Whats the Conti GP5000TL 32mm of car tyres? Stock tyres on my Golf MK7 GT feel quite wooden. 60% motorway, 20% gnarly country roads, 20% city.

Mid 60s was the peak of Detroit design for me. The late 60s had some good stuff but GM dicked around and made a mess of the 1968 year models before moving away from the angular flourishes to squarer designs and fewer flourishes.
Also amazing AMC spot. AMC never had the same volumes as GM/Ford brands and the Rambler was only produced for about a decade, and mostly as sedan. That is a rare spot indeed.

Ah cheers, nice to know the AMC is rare spot. I'm not familiar with the brand at all but love that wagon, the only other one I can think of is the greenhouse-windowed Pacer as seen in Wayne's World, and I think that has always been regarded as the antithesis of cool.

They only look good with a bit of tyre meat on them. Thats why I suggested dropping to a 16" wheel, then you could fit some mild A/T tyres with a taller sidewall... Would toughen up the xv a little.
Got to feel sorry for the wheel bearings on the orange M3 though. They are not going to have an easy life with that offset.
