So car history.. Don't think this has been done yet?
1991 - Talbot Alpine 1.3 in metallic blue. Utterly rubbish and rusted away
1994 - Volvo 360 GLT in red. Understeer then oversteer. Rusted away.
1999 - Ford Orion 1.3L in red. Immaculate bar the hole in the fuel tank. Ponderously slow.. Timed at 30 seconds to 70. Weighed in.
2001 - Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7D in Blue. Stupidly fuel efficient. Rear ended at 199k miles.
2005 - Honda Civic 1.4 auto. Handled beautifully, bit slow. Another child meant a new car.
2010 - Volvo S60 2.0t in metallic grey. Comfy and thirsty.
2016 - Nissan Leaf in black- Electric! Now a two car family.
2017 - Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce in white. First new car!
2019 - Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce in red. No real alternatives to the Alfa. -

1997 - Fiat 126 0.6 litre inline twin, sold as I didn't use it
2008 - Volvo 850R estate, 2.3l turbo inline five, sold to a forum member in 2018 (?)
2017 - Porsche 911, 3.4 (at the moment) flat six, still got it
2018 - C55 AMG estate, 5.4l V8, still got it -

Out of that lot, the cars which I quite enjoyed were the Fiat, the Peugeot 406, the BMW mini and the MK4 Mondeo.
The Skoda is also a really nice car.
The Peugeot broke down a lot.

Hello!

After my wittering about compact saloons this thread is now on point.. Yellow lens!

Oh that's a nice 964.
I really regret not buying a purple 964 RS 10 years ago. Yes, a real RS. It was super high miles and less than what a 997 costs today. I'm sure it needed a fortune spending on it but it remains the one that got away (that and my brother NOT buying a Delta Integrale in Japan last year for an insanely low price - again needed some work but nothing he couldn't do himself).

I think it was the same colour as this one, had a gaudy interior so was probably a special order:

Chap I’m making the 996 engines with has decided he’s not busy enough and is also rebuilding a 996.2 Mezger to 4 litres and putting it in a C4S that’s converted to RWD.

Ha, I'm the third owner of my 911 since the engine has not been in the car.
And been to small claims court too.

That’s Amethyst, it was a standard colour, would have had 3 different pinks on the seat centres.
Still lush.
But it’s mos def pink, not purple.
-
• #53848
I stand corrected then - looked purple to me, but yes there was definitely pink on the inside, very 90s!

• #53849
Lilac metallic grey?

• #53850
Whut?
Putting a £30k motor in the worst handling 911 ever made?
Daftness level = pro. Good on him.
This old Tony (YouTube channel) did an episode on TIG brazing, which is quite fun. He got good results ultimately.
