Damn! I was betting that was it. They made so many different prototypes in those days it could could be anything. If it's in the museum though it's bound to be important, therefore an image must be somewhere. I'm intrigued.

just just go straight. is that an american race?
I get your joke.
i know nothing about these races other than the few vids i saw yesterday. "Trophy truck racing"
i was mostly impressed with the trucks, which is why i though to post it here. the roads arent even close to a "road", and yet these guys haul ass. vids taken from the outside of the truck give you a better idea of how rouch the going is.
it really is bad ass driving.
edit: first vid that came up. ok i'm done now. back to cars.

Replacing the dissy and rebuilding the carbs took the money I had aside for the rolling road, so I just did the old "advance it til it pings, then wind it back a bit" method.
I also left my timing light in london.
Hey if you ever need your carbs looking at again, I can dismantle a set of SU's with my eyes closed (and more importantly put them back to gther a gain!!)...you can also chop check which we used to use when I raced my mini ...
bascially you need a reasonably long road ie about 1 mile (maybe a fraction more) ...thats got a conveniant lay by ...you drive it like you mean it and then cut the engine when you roll to a stop, take out two of the spark plugs (ie the ones being fed by different carbs) and you should be able to see what colour they are running at ...ie if they are to rich they will be black...
also to set up your carbs just get a length of rubber tube and listen to them you can hear them suck well enough to balance them .

Only caught the last five minutes of the live programme on Sky Sports. Did see the excellent Jag XJ220 powered Ford Transit belt up the hill though!
