  • i would not drive that to a shit fight.

(i probably couldn't get in that)

  • except olivers.

    seriously, too much muscle.
I don't like ferraris, i think they look dumb.
    Lambos try too hard.
maseratis look like someones kicked them in the teeth.
porsches like someones anally raped them, and sat on them. I was nearly hit today by thre 4 door porsche pile of shit.
mclarens were nice when i was 8, now boring as.

that citroen of the air suspension fame is gorgeous.
I'm partial to cars that look like cars, with simple as engineering, and that drive like dreams.
case in point- TR6, TR4a, Lotus Exige, caterham 7, the list goes on.
    the mazda rotary engine.
the honda s2000 unbelievable range of revs.
all these things trump out and out showiness.

the simple london black cab, the old routemasters.
Some gangster mobiles we found in NZ.
and i don't mean like braap braap, i mean like Al Capone.
The humble 1960's ambulances, the 1940's fire engines or those green godesses.

    I'm done now.

    Must spread rep ...

  • Well... guess we were all told...

For a bit of understated power how about this?

310 bhp Mini. On 10" wheels.

  • It's actually a friend's car but I don't have any photos of it myself. He doesn't really let many people drive it considering when the boost comes on you usually find yourself on the wrong side of the road.

He told me a story about how he overtook someone on a country road, the torque steer was so violent he was actually steering left (towards the car he was overtaking) to keep the car on the road.

  • There was a twin engine Mini at Goodwood this year, fucking awesome. Front and rear v8's i think? scary

  • Nooooo, they can't have been v8's.
All the same, front and rear engine...tiny car...yummy

  • This one? I ran next to it at Santa Pod once, it's fucking loud.

  • I love old minis.
i live near the old mini centre in putney and as a kid always dreamed of one as my car- about the right size and everything.
but fuck the modifications right off.

  • Yeah! pretty sure it was that one. Sadly i never saw it run/fired up

  • Coincidentally, Matt Woods the photographer is the owner of the 310bhp Mini, he takes photos for most of the modified single make magazines.

Performance VW, Banzai, Modern Mini Mag, Mini Mag, Performance French Car, Fast Ford, etc.

    Well said sir!

That Citroen you're talking about is the DS if you're interested.

  • Nooooo, they can't have been v8's.

Yeah it's not V8s, it's A Series front and back, hence the 3 exhaust pipes through the bonnet and boot.

  • This is a V8 Mini,

  • Thought so.... but there's an idea eh ;) twin V8 mini's whoooooo
    you go first...... haha

  • thanks, i couldn't remember it.
    love that fucking car. brilliant.

makes me smile each day thinking about how right it looks in being so wrong.
    my ideal garage:
    Citroen DS
    Old Mini Cooper
    TR6
Big fuck off van- like Dammits van.
Small, economical car- for family jaunts.

  • Actually, forget all your fancy powerful supercars, just give me an MkI Escort, and MkIII Cortina and an MkI Capri and i'll be a happy man.
