very true, however after quite a few years working around the industry I know you can also be pretty succesful and not be a complete and utter twat
Definitely, though Dennis always just came across as a more sincere guy than most of the rest (of course that could all be a front) like Christian Horner, just seems like a nice guy.

I watched part of a 599 being hand built, simply amazing, each part is hand crafted, no machines- its all hand made... meticulous perfection in every part ... the body paint has a sensor run over it- like a scan, to ensure a perfect balanced paint distribution ...
wow, amazing technology, I am charged with the ominous task of designing a new exhibit area within the factory for a partnership brand....am somewhat daunted by the task, especially with that in mind

Melandri still has a lot of work to get to the Dr's level... dont get too ahead of yourself ;)
Apologies for yet more MotoGP, but this is brilliant:
YouTube - Motogp Mugello 2005 Capirossi-Melandri
I really, really miss Marlboro liveries, with Schumacher, Melandri and Makkinen.
This silly barcode looks crap.

I've created a group for VW lovers.
goes off to put flamesuit on
There are groups? Sounds like a good group.
Anyway dunno if this works, http://www.londonfgss.com/group50.html - VW fans, uh, where you can post anything VW related and don't need to post to suit one's person's taste.

wow! what a great opportunity, they are a incredibly pedantic lot but Im sure you'll bring the same level of perfection to the table they've come to expect.. ..good luck!
you might get away with a camera for "professional" reasons

definately a front! you are right , you cannot be where he is without an uncompromising attitude and the absolute perfection filters through into everything, not sure about the new car but there is no denying the attention to detail is breathtaking

In his industry, that's very far from a bad thing, and i'm sure anybody who has worked for him has perfectly understood his attitude.

Which race was that? He comes off so often I can't remember which is which ;)
Watching the 2005 Japanese GP at the minute, that was a bloody awesome race, Kimi winning from 17th and Alfonso with that move on Schumacher around the outside of 130R!

It'll be interesting to see which Kimi fans stick with Kimi and which will stick with Ferrari.
Yeah I seen that, his recovery at Donington this year was very good too.

Kimi= Crap driver. waste of money. Send him to Nascar!

Even Mr McCarthy can't possibly defend this monstrosity...

Kimi doesn't deserve nascar with the likes of JPM and Vill...
hes lost momentum admittedly... but hes got roar power, sadly, we've seen little of it since his WC days but I think nascar is a insult.. rally yes.

I admit, when I saw the pics, I threw up a little, but I saw the thing in the flesh, and it's not at all bad, I mean it's no Elan but it's not bad.
The Evora on the other hand, oh my, that is a gorgeous thing, such a shame that it's destined for a fate similar to the NSX.

Kimi's personality + rally = Marcus Gronholm:

You've gotta admit, he is pretty awesome, how can you not love the guy? Disguising himself as a gorilla to avoid the media while winning a snowmobile race competing under the name J. Hunt. The epitome of cool.

Help needed choosing car please...
Currently got a y2000 Lupo 1.4 16v Sport, the 100bhp one with OpenAir ragtop. We love it, the steering is superb, the ride and handling are great and I love the top-endy power delivery. I love it so much that the engine is now pretty screwed. It sounds rough, takes two attempts to start and likes to flash up all sorts of acronyms on the dash.
So we're hoping to chop it in at a dealer (with full disclosure of the problems) to avoid the hassle of sellling a ropey car privately. Problem is we can't find anything we like. Just tested a Panda 100hp, and it was disappointing. The electric steering felt artificial, the low speed ride was dreadful, at speed the rebound would throw it off course and it just didn't feel as quick as the Lupo, especially for the amount of racket it made.
Next to try is Suzuki Swift Sport but I'm starting to think it may be best to spend the money on fixing up our car or looking at a Lupo GTi though the nearest decent one on the Trader is 90 miles away.
So... sugestions please. Got around £7-8000, Clio 197 and others in that bracket are too expensive on the running costs for us so help me find something fun!

I think you should weigh up the likely difference between selling privately (which means you'll get a higher price than a dealer) and just being as honest as you can about the problems and discount accordingly. If you're open and honest, a potential buyer won't necessarily be put off if you can show you're aware of the problems and have priced the car with those in mind.
You're kind of tied into things if you go down the dealer route and you usually end up paying more in the long run.
Depending on what you're after though, you can get a really good second hand car for that price, and you get all the usual benefits of any 1st owner faults having been fixed, as well as the depreciation taken into account. I have a 54 plate Seat Leon TDI FR, which has enough power at 150bhp to be a lot of fun (as some on here will attest) and was well within your price range.
What exactly are you looking for though? It looks like you're looking at superminis, but can you go bigger? Are you going to be driving in the city or on A-roads and motorways? Are you after something that's purely fun, or is practicality an issue as well?
Melandri still has a lot of work to get to the Dr's level... dont get too ahead of yourself ;)
