You can get dessicant in a plastic pot from homebase I found was best price. 3 rectangular pots for £3 (normally about 10). I put them in foot well of cars that aren't in daily use, change thrm very months, makes a big difference to moisture build up (usually means none. Never see any condensation in them etc)
In estate car when we had the dog used yo leave one in there too, found the reduction in moisture almost totally eliminated dog smell om all but thr hottest day -

You've managed to pick up a well looked after and great example of a 924. In the least internet stalkerish way, I know two of the previous owners, here she is pictured back in 2016 at a spanners and sponge in the North West:

I think it's only surface moisture but until I have a closer look that's just a guess. There's no evidence of 'a lot' of water though but I guess you never know.

Haha wow - that’s the beauty of the internet in fine form. I knew it’d changed hands numerous times between 924 club members but couldn’t have foreseen any links here!
Do you have one yourself?

Nice, congrats! Have a lil soft spot for these, think they would look good lightly modified...

Yeah I've still got mine 2nd from the left on the picture, on a slow restoration. I've got the same username over at the 924OC.

Been working on the brat this afternoon. Now all the structural stuff is done, so I tackled the front near-side wheel arch, which was the worst of the body work. Quite an enjoyable process: took a template off the other side of the car, to make the perpendicular lip, and tacked that in first, to hold everything in position while I made the repair pieces. Made cardboard templates, to cut out the sheet metal repair pieces, then hammered the compound curves into them until they matched the existing shape of the arches, then welded them in. Simple really. Happy with the results- the overall shape is good, and it all feels solid again. Obviously needs the welds polishing flush and a skim of filler before painting, but hopefully it should look about right...

I had an exciting email saying the Group F body kit for my polo rally car will be delivered in between 14th and 20th May

That looks great. I love mk3 polos and regret not owning a g40 when I had the chance.
What are you going to be using the car? Tarmac, gravel or a bit of both?
-
• #42339
Plan at the moment is to build it to tarmac spec, I’ve owned the car for over 16 years and I didn’t really want it getting battered in the forrests!
I’m running the engine and gear box from a later 1.4 16v 6n Polo Rally Challenge car, but with ITBs and some other bits, roughly 150bhp with close ratio straight cut gearkit

My service book is inconclusive with regards to what oil I should put in my car so I pulled into Winchester Mercedes to ask- a little Googling had revealed that it might be an MB specific version of Mobil 1.
The service chap left me in their perfectly pleasant waiting area for two coffees worth of time, and has now just come back to say that there is a specific Castrol AMG 0w40, for £19 per litre, and he’ll top it up if I like?

Huh the polo have less room in the back for adult than a Citigo.

Electric parking point would cost me £500 from the council https://www.hounslow.gov.uk/info/20053/transport/1497/electric_vehicles_and_charging_points/2
Doesn't make sense for me as I plan to move within 6-9 months.

If you took a 25 year old Toyota Townace Royal lounge to a toyota main dealer, how long a list of faults would you expect and at what price would they stop. Visual inspection only.
-

None. In the automotive world, said car is the bastion of reliability and indefatigability.
I'm right, no?

Old next door neighbour had a mint perfect g40 in the correct red. Much better behaved than thr uno turbo I had at same time. Guess which ones worth actual money now though! Backed the wrong horse with that lol

No.
4 faults were that the tyres are a budget brand....ever heard of trailmax?

Tornado Red, often referred to as Tornado Pink, as they faded in the sun so badly! I sometimes think about buying a G40 even today
What I was trying to get at was, that some cars have sound deadening felt under the carpets and if the water has been sitting there for a while it can start to rot and smell.
