I need 5 new tyres before I get it back on the road, so need to make a decision sooner rather than later.
It will be a daily driver, and will run up and down the dual carriageway quite regularly. I'd prefer it to be comfortable on the motorway- will help the mpgs too! -

Oh la la!!

Depends on your definition of comfortable but a light Ute with a lift kit and large A/T tyres is going to bounce around a lot. You'd need to get advice on spring rates and dampers to make it ride well and handle. At a guess I'd say soft is good?

Bag it? Keep the lift for off-road adventures and then have a more road biased configuration for the rest of the time?

Overdrive unit?
Are you changing the rims?
Where does the speedo get it drive from? Increasing the rolling radius means speedo will read wrong.

I'm well aware of the Silver Arrows, just a silly little joke on my part... 😉

Looking a that I'd say damp proof membrane and glued to tension. The flapping noise can be very irritating. To me anyway.
I'd say padding for the floor, if you are to lie on the floor.
Oh and a car roller makes it sooooooo much nicer to work on the floor of the car.

I have a rotisserie that is made from two engine stands, if you are interested. Makes things 500% easier. We don’t need it any more.

Just looking at that car makes me angry.

Bmw is swirl city. What does a ‘detail’ cost.
Because I’m not doing the whole car by hand!

How long is a piece of string...
Somewhere between £500-£1500 depending on level of paint correction, how 'detailed' (e.g. wheels off? Engine bay?), type of sealant/protection applied at the end etc etc
I've had satisfactory DIY results using a DA polisher and selection of pads and polishes. You can buy complete polishing 'sets' http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher/cat_81.html

DIY route still takes a long time even with the DA polisher

I know you said no DIY, but if you're interested this guys channel is good.

Wonder if you could get a neighbor's kid to do a chunk of it under supervision.
Tbh all the equipment will probably come close to the same as a detail.

The work done on my Volvo before handing it over to NH was £900, including the ceramic coating.
That was a "refresh detail", buffing out any oxidisation in the paint that had formed after the major detail that the chap did a few years ago.

Shit the bed. That's 1/4 of the cost of the car.
Best get my elbows out.

Thanks will watch that.
It's more time that's my issue, and lack of it right now. I'll perhaps have time later in the year.Yeah just paint @golgol engine and wheels are good. Perhaps I'll see if I can borrow a machine polisher and do it myself later in the year. Not spending near that money.

Yeah time is money, etc. TBH from the description and pictures I thought dammits would have been more.
Time of the job dictates the price.
There's also a guy called Chris something who has some good detailing videos that are a bit more amateur.
My 2p, do what you can incrementally. Sure it will look like an odd Patchwork in Some lights but who cares. Just cleaning correctly will do a lot to start.
Edit Chrisfix
Incredible...
