Do you have the Haynes manual? The wiring doesn't look too complex depending on age. Can borrow mine if you want a look, N16.

Nah you want the old Cummins 5.9, 12v straight 6 turbo they fitted in early 90s Dodges. Utterly bullet proof and virtually no electrics to worry about.

Sound evil too.

New pipe arrives tomorrow with beads rolled into either end. I have to drive tonight. What to do? Ghetto it.

Just boost limit yourself?

That's crazy talk. My ghetto safety wire worked, ECU has re-learned how to idle and accelerate.

Didn't roadkill drop one of those into a rotten caddy? Made no power until some diesel guy showed up and tweaked. Then burnouts.

Thanks! I do have the Haynes manual but unfortunately a fair bit of wiring isn't as it left the factory. On the plus side these started working and I had a little too much fun using them this evening.

Honestly my slightly ill sounding 300tdi makes more than enough power as is. I'm not sure if it's to do wth being high up or havin loads of suspension travel but it's way too easy to speed in the city in this compared to the AX and only realise when I find myself reaching for 4th gear.

It appears we could be on the same page. I saw this on piston heads classifieds the other day and marvelled at the fact that this tidy looking coupe might be the only thing I could nearly afford at Munich Legends...

Well, we're going to see if my bit of twisted wire is up to the job as the new section if charge pipe is, despite me paying for pre-1pm delivery today, not arriving until tomorrow.
When I'll be in Winchester, at least theoretically. If, that is, the wire holds.
Auto Silicone Hoses are wankers, in related news.

Car peeps. I have a need for a larger, nicer car than our ageing Polo. My needs are: space for babies, kids and attendant stuff. Thinking compact SUV as opposed to estate as I now live in the country and bad roads and the occasional field are to be expected. Plus my wife wants a car to "jump down from". I like leather seats, DAB radios, sat-nav and low mileage. I'm guessing diesel is sensible. My budget is £20k. the Audi Q5 and the Volvo XC60 look good. Am I in the right ball park?

Should say that full-on Discovery Range Rover size stuff is off limits due to free-for all on street parking. Plus I have no need for full-on off-road capabilities and do a fair bit of motorway driving visiting family.

Honda CRV? Subaru Forester? Freelander 2 maybe?

I thought I wanted an XC60 until I went in one, it's an 8 year old model now and really feels it. Ended up with a new Tiguan, because cheap lease.
The Nissan X Trail was probably the best car, but I couldn't live with the rear lights.

When in that ever the answer? Or the slightly bigger one.
http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/ will become your friends.
Messed about wiring is the worst, up there with dodgy installed alarms.
Are you doing this by yourself?
